Well, it's that time again, we're getting ready to go racing (hopefully) at Atlanta Motor Speedway tonight in the iRacing.com Series Drivers' World Championship. The #4 EVGA Chevrolet SS has been great all week in practice, and we should be really fast in the race tonight. I believe if we keep all of the fenders on the car, and stay out of trouble, it's very possible we could have a shot at the win tonight. Check out all of the action tonight on PSRTV! The PSRTV pre-race show starts at 8:45 EST, and the green flag will be shortly after 9:00 EST. The broadcast can be viewed through the following outlets: www.psrtv.com www.iracing.com/live www.motorracingnetwork.com I hope you guys can tune in and watch some great racing action tonight, should be a lot of side by side battles and some intense moments. Below is a screenshot from our practice race last night. Brodie Kostecki, and myself battling side by side for the lead for the entirety of the last 4 laps. We were sideways, beating and banging, doesn't get much better than that. ALSO: Here's a link to an awesome video that HVMP produced for myself. It basically showcases myself and EVGA. Rob was talking about getting this video uploaded to the EVGA YouTube channel possibly. Anyways, check it out! http://youtu.be/OTbMGQGtRgE I apologize for not being able to imbed the link, can't access YouTube at work. Thanks again for the support from all of you, it means a lot. ONE MORE THING: In the video, the car has different numbers. The footage was taken in races that were separate from the NiSWC races. In these races, your car number varies based on your irating. Higher iRating drivers have lower numbers (ex. highest irated driver has #1). My #4 is locked for the NiSWC races only.

Of course it's been great in the practice, It's a video game and they don't get engine/trans/susp damage.... Try getting "Sponsored" by EVGA for Nascar. P.s. genuine question, no disrespect, but when you do these races do you sit in front of your computer in full racing gear?

I'm not sure what you are trying to accomplish with this post, but I'll answer the best that I can. We do receive damage to our cars when making contact, whether it be front end alignment, suspension, rear-end alignment, motor damage. This can occur in all sessions whether it be practice or in the actual race. You have to be able to take care of your racecar and avoid contact. Also, you have to be concerned with making your motor last over the course of the race as well. You have to make the right gear selection, and also have to run the maximum amount of tape on the front grille of the car, without causing to over-heat. Grille tape improves the aerodynamics and handling of the racecar. If you run too much tape, and are in heavy traffic for a while, your temperature gauges will start flashing red, and you'll eventually cook your motor if you don't back off and get some clean air to the motor. Also, racing in real life in any series takes some serious coin. In upper-level racing series, it takes millions of dollars to even start a race team. This is for the guys who can't afford to actually go racing every week. Most guys who race in the NiSWC series are sponsored by actual companies, like EVGA, and most are compensated for advertising. One of my teammates receives $3,000 per year to advertise for his sponsor. iRacing provides a great outlet for racing and competition in a virtual sense, but it's more of a simulation than a 'video game.' To be fast, you have to have basic engineering knowledge and knowledge of physics/setting up an actual racecar. Of course, these things can be researched and learned by anyone. In closing: No, I do not have racing gear of any sort, nor do I plan to purchase any unless I'm actually going racing in real life.

Good Luck Brian! Do you have anyone to help you figure out the car set up, or do you do that by yourself? Edit: Maybe you can show us your set up sometime, ie seat/cockpit ,wheel, monitor/s.

I'll be honest, I'm not as advanced on setting up the car as some of my teammates. A lot of them actually race in real life and have a far more base of knowledge than I do, but I'm learning a lot from them. With that said, I can build a base setup that's competitive, but my teammates are really good at tweaking the car and making it fast over the whole fuel run, which is very key in this series. Here's a pic of my racing setup, nothing fancy! I'm hoping to go to triple screens soon, so I'll have a total peripheral view of the cockpit.

Brad_Hawthorne Here are two of my iRacing setups in collaboration with AMD, D.Box, Virtual-GT and Nthusim. I really like iRacing although I'm not as proficient at it as I am with flight sims. A motion platform with iRacing is awesome to experience. I run Fanatec Clubsport Pedals and PWTS on my personal rig. http://www.nthusim.com/setup/amd-tech-day http://www.nthusim.com/setup/amd-ces-2011-hob-vegas One can dream...wow! That's VERY impressive, thanks for sharing!

Nozler Say is there a full field of 43 cars now? Just in NiSWC :) The EVGA Chevy SS was really good tonight. Unfortunately, early in the race, I got drilled coming onto pit-road under yellow, which sent me over pit-road speed. That put me back in 39th for the restart. We went green for the rest of the race and drove all the way back up to 14th. It's a shame though, definitely could've won the race tonight, if not for someone's lack of judgment. Oh well, that's racing! We race again in 2 weeks at Chicago. Thanks to everyone for tuning in!

looks like you came in 14th... While not a victory... at least you finished... That alone is quite a feat... whenever I try to race online with any race game/sim, I get smoked!!! Nice job.

Thanks! Still frustrating though, although it was a lot of fun charging through the field from 39th. I actually made my way up to 11th before the last pit-stop. Some guys took 2 tires on the last stop and gained some time on me. I contemplated taking 2 on the last stop, but decided to go with 4 instead, and added some grille tape as well. I almost blew the motor during the last 10 laps. I started the race on 30% tape, and taped up to 40% on the last stop to get a little more speed. I was catching the 13th place guy, but as I got closer, the oil temperature started getting hotter and my gauges started flashing red. So, I had to use the clutch in the corners to cool the motor down, which cost me some speed.
