you'd be surprised. FOMO gets the better of some people and they make irrational choices, then have regret later. I could definitely see someone having the realization that they don't really need to spend that much or don't want the snowballing costs of watercooling and will just wait for an air cooled card. Jacob chooses his words carefully for a reason. he says "possibly" and "may" to be non-committal. This implies some uncertainty or element of chance, and IMO the biggest source of uncertainty would be uncertainty in having stock. Jacob knows when there will be stock or not when it's new shipments coming in. he's made several tweets that are much more certain and committal about dates that models will go out. This all leads me to believe its based on the uncertainty of what will be left over. if there's some left over, then yes theres a second drop this week. if not, then no drop until some unknown future date when they get more.

I figure I need 25 more cards to drop then I get picked up. Thats attempting to add about 15 cards on top of my position here, plus a few more.
  The que doesn't differentiate between business or personal. The que knows all. The que is life. The que smiles upon us and gives us a time to purchase. Side note: Its a good thing the que isn't like fight club....

I don't know, it's guaranteed to resell for hundred more than they would pay. The Kingpin HC, where I am 3 away on the self reported data, I would make about $1100 more than I paid if I scalped it. I'm #15 for self reported data for the 3080 Ti XC3 HC. and #48 for the 3080 Ti FTW3 HC based on elements site which I have no clue how many people have already received their card before me, as the site has no incentive for reporting back.

It's honestly kind of crazy to me that the XC3 is low priority. Most people I've come across aim for the XC3 models because of their pricing. You'd like they'd sell more of them than anything.

not everyone thinks like this, and not everyone would take the risk, and even possible that someone just can't front the cost at all if they had some sudden bills or something.
