Phanteks today introduced the new Evolv Shift 2 and Shift 2 Air vertical ITX chassis. The Evolv Shift 2 (Air) builds on the unique form factor of the original Evolv Shift, featuring a compact chassis with an extremely space-efficient footprint yet packed with plenty of power. D-RGB lighting has been integrated in a subtle and stylish way and all rear I/O is concealed while easily accessible with a touch on the top panel. With support for large and powerful GPUs with up to a 2.9 slot cooler, the Evolv Shift 2 makes powerful gaming setups possible while the vented top, bottom, and rear panel provide plenty of airflow options.
 
The Evolv Shift 2 comes in two variations:
  • Evolv Shift 2: The Evolv Shift 2 looks impressive from every angle and provides a clear view of all hardware components through dual tempered glass side panels from both sides.
  • Evolv Shift 2 Air: The Evolv Shift 2 Air provides direct fresh air to the CPU, GPU, and PSU through the two fabric mesh panels that will keep dust out while allowing RGB lights to come through. Perfect for an all-air-cooled system.
Availability December 2020.

The design is very different in my personal opinion, but very appealing.

    I'm very happy with the quality of my Phanteks case
     
    The rotated case is different ... mITX case is not something I'd put a high watt GPU into

    Am I looking at these right ?  It seems that the user would then need to have the top popped open all the time to plug everything in...!??

    I used the first version for a while. Everything fits in there nice, except the Displayport cable.
    I saw another user in the mods rigs section that used a 90 degree adapter to fix that issue though.

    No, there's a decent sized cable routing gap underneath the lid, can just barely see it because of that angle. Found this review of the Shift 2 Air model: https://www.kitguru.net/components/leo-waldock/phanteks-evolv-shift-2-air-review/
     
    Not a case I'd buy since it's best for air cooling but I like the looks of it. Also rather like the dual-SSD caddies it uses.


    Have water, will cool.

    I definitely want a small mITX case to build gaming PCs for all my family members. I keep waiting for the ultimate mITX CASE.

    Can anyone confirm this will fit the EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra? I mean it says 2.9 slot.. so... yea?? ;)
