People placing Pop figures on top of gpu

This has been going on where I seen people placing Pops inside their cases and see that people have no problems with this, what about placing a pop figure on the back plate? I think that it wouldn't be all that safe for the GPU, since the card can get hot wondering if people have actually done this and how safe this actually is doing. I have thought about doing so as well but I worry something may go wrong inside my build.

    I think this is done for images and not actually keeping them on there during high loads.  I would highly advise not to leave them in there. lol

    I figure as much but I'm pretty much curious in the science reasons. I mean I honestly figure that it would melt the plastic or paint on a gpu, however on a psu shroud it really shouldn't hurt anything?

    Personally I would never put anything on a GPU or inside a PC case that might melt or become soft due to heat. I saw a build a few years ago that had Lego characters on top of the GPU and those figures didn't melt. Despite this I would never do it myself.

    To give you an idea of the risk people have put Pop figures under running hot water and the vinyl becomes soft enough to reshape.

    I don't like when people do that, but it's theirs PCs, to each his own, I personally wouldn't put any dolls or toys inside my system.
