The front rad has push/pull corsair sp120 hp fans and I don't like them in pull configuration at all. There loud in pull and with push. There only good in push. Imy gona try and see if I can remove the pull fans and I bet the temps won't be much of a difference with these large ek ex rads as there so think at 60mm and allow good air flow.

Hey guys.... i think i had about enough of this sad pc life of mine....today i have installed 8 x 8GB of HyperX 2133hz DDr4s. now 4 of them were kitted together. the other 4 are singles.... when i booted to bios it was reading only 48GB....so i opened up the Ausus MOBO manual and started to put some knowledge in my brain :) (hope you guys are happy to hear that ;) )

I followed the diagram to what best fits on my mobo dimm layout, oh and it's a quad channel slots. still no luck... THENNNNN!!! i went to bios and switched to EZmode where i can see what cards aren't reading...funny enough i found the problem. my B1,B2 slots weren't reading any cards as it shows (N/A) so i assumed it's the card i ordered online....so here i was swapping away for about an hour and no fudging LUCK! it still kept on saying it doesn't recognize anything. NOW FYI.....when i was at the shop and told them to add another 8GB RAM (i started with 16GB at first) they were having issues as it wasn't reading 24 but only read 16....then they started on swapping slots...i asked what's going on...and they said 'oh don't worry we are looking into it maybe the slot reader functions different' .... now i'm beginning to suspect that the mobo might have been a faulty one from the start.....

any thoughts or advice? am i doing something wrong? or they shopped really rammed me hard in the buttcheeks.... i am going to call them around 'noon time....so any ideas or counter arguments will be MORE THAN APPRECIATED <3

and you did the bios update? i have a Sabertooth z170 S and i needed to update for my M.2 NvMe samsung 950 pro to read as my OS drive and for my SSD. But RAM shouldn't be an issue, but definitely worth trying to update the bios if you haven't already

The fact that B1 and B2 are not functioning leads me to think that there is a bent pin in the socket - especially if you have taken the time to swap sticks around to different DIMM slots, and b1/b2 are always showing nothing, or the less likely event that they are in fact DOA, but given the quality of the shop you went to, I would say they bent a pin installing the processor.

Causes for improper RAM size readings:

1. BIOS update required (less likely)
2. Processor was installed improperly, and a bent pin(s) are keeping the processor from reading all the DIMMs (most likely, easiest to fix)
3. Bad RAM (maybe)
4. Bad DIMM (unlikely, I haven't seen these go bad too often)
5. I have seen some boards act totally weird with memory, and reporting of size, timing, etc (DFI X58-T3EH6 was a squirrely board when it came to memory, and probably the only board I have seen that ever did such random things with memory information - sometimes setting a voltage, or timing differently would cause RAM to drop off from use, and give wrong readings for capacity)

The place that made your PC sounds like a bunch of total newjacks at PC building, I honestly wouldn't put it past them to have seated the processor wrong and bent a pin in socket, or given you defective hardware (If they flat out lied to you and said Windows 8.1 was what the hardware supported, and not 10 - then I certainly wouldn't put it past them to give you less than functional hardware).

Yes. They must've fudged it up or doesn't know if it is a faulty mobo. It took me an hour to find out it is a faulty mobo by researching on the net. Someone on amazon reviewed the same mobo model stating membanks b1 and b2 are defected.

Also i think this mobo is old or a used one because it says win 8.1 ready. Maybe this is why they couldn't install my videocards drivers or even win10 x64? Just curious...

Just take it back and tell them what's up! Yeah no way you should touch the cpu for bent pins cause if they are they will blame you did it when removing the cpu.

Tell them you've been told online its either from bent cpu pins or a bad motherboard.

If they give you any grief remind them that you remember them having the same issue when they were testing the board when you requested more ram from them before so..

Be nice if they remove the cpu for you to check yourself but I bet they won't want that but request it.

If they don't have another mb to replace it tell them you want the asus rampage 10 anniversary edition! Remember your Nvidia hb bridge must match the spacing so the motherboard needs to be a 4 way sli board for your bridge to fit.

And no that mb is not so old that it can't have win10 installed.. that's there f'up. They should be putting win 10 on it.. remind them of all the issues but stay calm. Your not happy and you have a right to not be happy with your overall experience with them! If refund is an option go for it!

If you want something done right, doing it yourself is always best.

And yes bent pins can be repaired but risky..

That's why supposidly when you buy a motherboard from a local shop called microcenter the sales cleak checks the motherboard for bent pins before you pay for the board. That way if you return it and they check the pins if there bent they know you did it. But guess what.. I've exchanged 3 Motherboards with them the past 2 months when I was peicing together my newest build (kept changing my mind on the board haha) and they never checked the pins but did when I returned the mb even though I never opened the box. :/

yeah, no way in hell am i going to touch or fiddle with it...unless i have extreme knowledge or experience history. Right now i can't even focus at work and my boss saw it...he said he got my back if anything goes wrong because he knows i am an excellent working and the best staff he ever had in his life (i work at a print shop spealize in wideformat printing). He said he'd never seen me like this and i told him to find a replacement if i don't show up the next day quite most likely i'll be killing someone there... this is not fair. I shop excellent service to others/clients and when it's my turn i get **** in return....THIS IS NO JUSTICE!

Anyways... i have like an hour left at work and then i'm going to the shop.... now the shop i got my pc from has referred me to their second shop where they have a technician to have a look at...but wait?? why are they sending me there? are they trying to scam me and hide the staff that originally worked on my pc? when i saw him fiddling with mem slots trying to make the bios read the memory card when he was triggering the issue when i was there? OMG WHAT IS GOING ON???? what should i be saying???

Simple.. bent cpu pins or a bum mb with bad slots. They can test it and figure it out. Prob a new replacement mb.

Don't settle for any crap like the board don't support that much ram or your cpu don't or the mem sets won't work together cause you didn't buy a full 8 dimm set.

You tested the good ram in the bad slots and it don't work.

OMG WHAT IS GOING ON???? what should i be saying???

good luck! they better replace everything for you... not right at all.

Also going to the other place for a tech to look at it is prob normal procedure. Wait and see how it turns out before blowing your head. If you don't like the outcome then yeah go to the original shop and let them know..

Are you still in a return window?? Not that that may apply anyways if the overall experience isint a good one.. as in they should try to fix your issue if you feel mistreated overall with selling you win8 when you wanted win10 using a bc reason and then possibly selling you a bad mb with them knowing it possibly has bad ram slots.

thank you for waiting patiently to finding out what is going on. so that other place was more welcoming. he told me the dude/kid built your pc was his first time building it since i ordered a beast. he usually builds family/student pcs lol. i can honestly say i'm in good hands. the store president showed up as well and said if anything is really wrong then they'll replace the mb and if they don't have the current one or takes too long, they will give me a rampage 10 anniversary one :) with no cost :) now i'll be waiting to hear from the tech after 5... this time though i can wait on it since i'll be getting th PS VR today :)

Sweet news! Did you mention the win10 ps you originally requested and got that dumb line of not having a win10 driver or patch for your 1080 cards?? Heh

Well honesty is the best policy and glad they let you know about the kit that put your rig together.. no doubt they will go out of there way to make it right now.

Happy for you that it's working out for you.

More and more it sounds like they are a used car dealership, running a sketch PC shop out the back.

I wouldnt use them again, just by what you are saying, and the lines they are feeding you - None of those guys have any idea what they are doing/saying, besides the fact they know they have the wool pulled over your eyes..

Live and learn as they say.. I'm sure next time he'll ask in a popular hardware forum what to buy and build it himself. Plenty of info all over the place to learn how to do this stuff now a days with the Internet loaded with resorces.

Back when I started there was books! :o heh

lol books :P you can't update that 'ish! :P

Anyways! i spoke with the tech and he said that he's find a lot of folks having issues with the mobo...he's going to downgrade 1 version down to see if the memory banks read... As long as he clarified that it is not my fault, i feel a lot safe....but now i'm crossing my fingers that it really is a bad mobo so i can get the rampage V addition.....is that the best one? or what is literally the best one of 2016 for intel lg2011 (i hope that's what it is...).

i am going to call him tomorrow around 2ish on the update.
