OK guys I need some help with the new EVGA BIOS for the P67 FTW. I followed Jacob's instructions to the letter but the BIOS doesn't actually get updated. After the updater runs and I restart (and reset the BIOS) it sits before the Windows load screen but after the POST screen with the flashing under score (_). Any ideas guys? I'd like to be able to OC relatively well but with the current BIOS it doesn't OC very well.

Put the update files in c:\bios
Open a command prompt and type 'cd\' <enter> 'cd bios' <enter> 'afuwin(32/64).bat'
Let it run, when its finished reboot the system.

I'm happy with my P67 FTW. Just ran 3DMark11:
P10265 3DMarks
Not gonna break any world records, but I'm satisfied. Running 4G (Auto VCore). Will play with my settings and see if I can coax a bit more out without OC'ing the CPU.

I have tried UltraISO, MagicISO, PowerISO, and Nero but all of them are giving me the same error.  It says a .bin file is unsupported.  Anyone know of any other programs that work?

I believe you need to boot into a dos prompt and use something like AWDFLASH for .bin files.

Here is a link that might help you out

i think im gonna hang loose until jacob posts the windows flash. less hassel and i dont wanna risk screwing up and breaking something thats working well enough ATM.

btw fixed my vantage score issue, i guess paying for 1.0.2 doesnt get you a working update to 1.1.0.
So heres 3dmark vantage w/o Physx 30513 and w/ Physx 37129. 3dmark11 is 7951.

Unfortunately that particular BIOS will not fix the issues with Vcore. I know everyone is very anxious for the fix and we thank you for your patience. I myself own a P67 FTW that is affected and is currently one of the boards they are using to re-create and root the problem. The announced fix is not far away.

Thanks,

Good to know, thank you Matthew, I just wish we could've got a working BIOS/UEFI considering out 5 month wait.

P67 FTW defective? 2011/06/17 15:42:27 (permalink)
Well according to Jacob our P67 FTW mobos may suffer from a hardware issue and we are expected to RMA them.
Rant:
Dear EVGA,
We waited 5 months for the P67 FTW, we were told they would cost less than they turned out to actually cost, the FTW's BIOS is not finished to say the least,  and now we have another issue. I can not express how angry I am, mostly because of TOS. I honestly can not believe how many issues have been attached with this motherboard. 5 months of delays, misdirection, and waiting; this all for a mobo that doesn't even work. I don't see anyway for EVGA to make this right, other than a massive discount on our next purchase, the amount of time waited and the number of issues are mind blowing. I'm done.

Hey Arctic!  You and I waited a long time for the EVGA boards.  I was SOOO disappointed when my FTW board could only run 1 card due to multiple dead PCIE slots.  I guess it was a good thing as my dead FTW board also had the vcore problem as well.  Right now it's in transit to EVGA and I'm enjoying the EVGA P67 SLI board.

If you are not going to run 3 cards, just return the FTW board and get the SLI board.  I am VERY happy with the SLI board.  It actually works properly!

Got the refund on my previous SLI board we ordered for evaluation at work.  Appreciate the relative swiftness that transaction was handled. Thanks EVGA support.

Here it is Father's Day weekend and I cannot order another SLI board for my personal use.  Not available at the Egg or EVGA.  Hope they are available shortly!

Thanks once again EVGA support and I am looking fwd to being notified of the SLI's availability.

Not so far, it appears that the SLI model is much more stable than the FTW version. Additionally the FTW is only really needed for people who are looking to run Tri-SLI in the near future or who want to get a very high OC. From all that I've read here the EVGA P67 SLI appears to be a better board at this point, cheaper as well.
