Hello all!

So my lovely EVGA 780 Ti SC decided to move on to the GPU afterlife last week. After a lot of troubleshooting I've determined that it's definitely the GPU and not some other part of the system.

However, I realized when I logged into to my EVGA account that my warranty had expired. I thought I had registered for the limited lifetime warranty, but it turns out I had missed the 30 day window by 6 days. The card was part of a prebuilt from an authorized EVGA dealer and I didn't realize that you had to register from the date of purchase not the date of receipt (which is my fault). So despite registering the card within 24 hours of physically getting it, I'd actually missed the 30 day window from when I had paid for the system.

Lessons learned and all that!

Does anyone happen to know what an RMA looks like cost-wise without warranty coverage? My guess is that it's probably more cost-effective to just buy a new card, but I figured I'd see if anyone had any experience with an out of warranty RMA.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend.

I believe that if the cost of repair is too high or not possible you could of course pickup a GTX 1060SC for a little over 200 dollars. The performance should be equal to or slightly greater than a GTX 780ti SC. If your budget allows it pickup a higher performing video card.

Thanks for the helpful responses everyone!

Good to know about the lack of coverage, I'll be sure to watch my warranty terms a little closer next time.

I guess that makes the decision as to whether to spring for the 1060 a lot easier though. Time to do some shopping!

I highly recommend getting an extended warranty from us as the price is well worth it!
