OSD not working in all games

I can't get the precision x OSD to work in all my games and when I can the toggle on/off option is laggy and often crashes my game, I don't have this problem with afterburner and would be happy using that except I can't seem to control my fans with it on this card (1080 TI FTW3).Any ideas for fixes?

    Set the fans on your gpu to a static % using xoc, close xoc, start/use afterburner while you game.

    Thanks, I suppose that will work until I get a waterblock and no longer have to worry about the fan profiles though I do wish I could let them ramp up only when needed...Just wish precision x would work better, I remember it used to be good.
