I like how the screen pops up like that.

I'm not a fan myself; it breaks the Coke-bottle lines the card already has.

How soon have KPE's been sold following normal release? Is expecting 3090KPE within 3 months too optimistic?

Usually 8 months afterwards. This time it's suppose to be released October (late) or November, so 1 to 2 months afterwards.

Thanks. Have they had EVGA member early release in the past? Someone mentioned that happened for 30xx cards but I didn't see it for myself.

Price should scare most away. By the time it releases inventory should be in a better state too. So I would not worry so much about bots

There have been pre-orders in the past. Early release of the KPE? Don't think so.

Are those tubes even long enough to reach the front of a Thermaltake View 91?

Normally I'd be fine waiting for the Kingpin, but with how power limited 3000 series is, I don't think the Kingpin is going to have any meaningful gains on air/water.

If Vince aka Kingpin allows 3090 KPE owners to get their hands on an unlocked vbios there will be gains to be had. ;)

The KPE will also come with a 520 or so watt vbios. FTW3 is only 450.

That's true with an unlocked bios, but even then increasing is going to raise temperatures rapidly and cause it to not boost as high anyways. I don't know, personally I just don't think it's worth it this time around unless you don't mind the wait or will be messing with LN2.

In any case, I look forward to seeing what it can do

You shouldn't ever buy a K|NGP|N for its stock performance, they're meant for extreme OCing. Interested to see how the DDR6X OCs and what Vince can get out of it.

Is there a difference in the chipset or just coolers?

I believe the chips are binned for higher clocks and it has a more robust power delivery. They are for people that want to push the card to the limit with exotic cooling which is why for the life of me, I can't figure out why EVGA would make it a 360mm Hybrid.

Would be cool if there was medium/low end cards for overclocking like Galax 1060HOF oc lab gpu.

Personally, I'm not too worried about the temps. A 360mm rad can dissipate between 300W and 600W, depending on your tolerance to noise, and that's not even including the PCIe air-cooler which is probably good for another 125W or so.

I'm guessing the hybrid solution can managing 450W to 500W with little effort, which puts it right near the limit of 3x8-pin power connectors and the PCIe interface (of 525W).

Interesting, Jack. I've got an SR-3 as well, and plenty of power if need be (1ea EVGA 1600W T2 & 1ea of the same model branded as Super Flower).

Remember Muffler Bearings on OCN (The Manhattan Project)?

Anyway, given the current state of affairs over on OCN, I started a new build log for the project over on ExtremeHW. Plugging a KPE 3090 into the equation could make for some interesting power consumption (though I doubt it would be as much as Vince likely added to EVGA's monthly power bill).

Hey there.  Long time no see.  Grats on the SR-3!

Yeah I remember that amazing overly engineered build.   Just the way we like em.  Yes, that build is screaming for a Kingpin or two.

As for OCN, I only pay attention to the Aquaero thread but it's been a while since I've been there.  I'm guessing not too many are fans with the new forum unless there was some other type of drama.

Yeah, I picked up the SR-3 on sale when EVGA dropped the price to $1k for a few days. You might say the price was right and I couldn't resist

Thanks. Not my kitchen per se, just spare room I've dedicated to wet work. There's a sink to the right, which makes things a little easier.

I was going to go W-3175X, but ended up getting caught up in bad ebay deal, which took a month to resolve. So I ended up going with a W-3265 (which isn't overclockable, but will suit my purposes fine). I picked one up off a guy that was going to use it to upgrade his Mac, but changed his mind and went with Threadripper.

Tray-unused, open box, and I got it for $1280.

I can't wait to get my hands on it! The only question to me is: how easy will it be to get one?

Usually, high prices are a deterrent for a lot of buyers. But with the craziness that is going on with the RTX cards, some people have been spending a lot more than usual. So this situation scares me a bit... And I seriously do not want to buy the Kingpin on a secondary market...

Just having fun! Anime, giant robots, and games! All to be enjoyed equally!
