Will it support all DX12 feature or just the bare minimum like the current cards on the market.

I will buy big Pascal, no matter on Maxwell. Maxwell will still hold nice price when Big Pascal show up and people will be interested for Maxwell.
I suppose I will buy GP110 about 4-5 months after launch not later. That's enough if NVIDIA allow custom card with all CUDA.

@MSim the hype over DX12 feature levels is quite misunderstood. Read here if you want to understand more. Current cards are mostly fine for DX12.

@ltkhoi90 I hate running multi-gpu configs. Single card is the way to go and for 4k I'll be buying one to hopefully be able to get 60fps at 4k on one gpu.

Largely irrelevant considering I refuse to pay $1k for a single discrete video card. Gimme 2x $250 cards any day of the year. Even then it's an absurd excess.
It could shift around at some point.  Think about the suggestion that Pascal would have 8-way scaling, what for?  The probability exists that single-GPU usage is under threat by the progress march of IGP; so to remain relevant, nVidia will eventually offer drivers for greater scaling and advanced graphics subsystems that can take it.  In terms of sales, maybe the flagship single-GPU may not be $1k anymore to ensure increased sales of multi-GPU platforms considering how small it currently is because it is too darn expensive-- not saying we'll see the shift with Pascal, maybe Volta.  Nothing happens suddenly in this market, hence 'some point'.

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

I don't read nothing about DX12... People oversized problems.
Before DX12 become reality and developers start to bombing us with DX12 games I don't want to compare at all nothing.

Lol yeah, there is definitely something nice about seeing more than one card side by side in the box. That's (one of the reasons) why I bought the coolermaster cosmos 2, no window so I can't be disappointed whenever I look at my pc and only see 1 graphics card there (regardless of how powerful it is). Yes I am holding out for Pascal.  Need watercooled version and hoping that EVGA comes out with that first.  AS far as nvlink and dx12 there is a lot out there on the topic and anyone who has been looking already should know.  This thread is a bit old.

The way I understand Pascal will work on most PC's but nvlink will be disabled except for certain workstation mb's.

DX12?  I don't know but I'll be upgrading to Win10 soon just to get it.  Promises better performance.

twice the performance per watt sounds appealing for me, less heat and electricity cost for folding (and gaming)

a bit disappointed that the "1080" won't have HBM2, but that may not be a huge factor. I just wonder how much of a gain it'll have over the 980. as I'm targeting the 1080 as my next card(s), not the 1080 ti or Titan Pascal.

I am curious to see how it truly performs, especially since it is single 8 pin.. I am hoping that it doesn't maintain the same performance, and just lower the power requirement by half.. I would love to see what it could do with two 8 pins or two 8's and a 6 on a K|ngp|n variant.

I don't think there is room for overclocking much
as silicon shrinks the traces/transistors get thinner and have less ability to handle power spikes/high power and heat as it would damage them

so overclocking will get harder as we are seeing with intel  -yes the clocks/speed go up , but the ability to overclock much more doesn't

There are 4k 120hz displays on the market. I need a volta to push a game like gtav to 60+ fps at max settings in 4k.

Are you talking about this screen? It doesn't do 144Hz.

Just give us a single card that can do 1440P/120FPS!!

I wont be touching Nvidia for awhile, or unless Nvidia starts giving a rats butt about solid drivers again, anything more than a year old its seems Nvidia dosent care, and wants you to spend $1K on a single GPU every 12months,

Can't wait to see these come out. I would really like to see a side by side comparison of power to performance ratio to the Maxwell cards. If they really can offer 2x performance at 1/2 the power and a standard card has a single 8 pin, the Ti and Kingpin versions will be incredible.

At this time the GTX 1080 GPU is rumored to be launching on May 27th and is rumored to have dual Displayport, a single DVI and a single HDMI 2.0 connections, though at this time we do not know if the GPU will support DisplayPort 1.3.

It is not 2 times the performance at half the power.
It is 2 times the performance per watt. Is that really that hard to understand?

pascal and AMD's new gpu is the only 4k GPU we will have in reality

problem with 4k is  you need memory for it and speed - and 6GB doesn't cut it - in fact 16GB would be preferable -  all the textures and then want max settings
if you truly want a real 4k card (single card setup) look at pascal Titan X  or TI or the dual that have planned with 32GB

Native DisplayPort 1.3/1.4 for any upcoming AMD/Nvidia GPU's, less would be just lazzy.  1440P/120FPS/120Hz+ on a single GPU, I can see AMD doing well/better this next 12months_ish. Nvidia is pzzzz off alot of customers as of late....

If it's anything like the last series release, anyone with a 980TI will be better off waiting until the Titan/TI cards release as the first cards released will likely only be a side upgrade compared to current 980TI cards.

Not only people with GTX980Ti, everyone who want real thing will wait full GP100 and HBM2...
Or at least GP100 and HBM2.
Because price of GTX980 successor will reach high price and later NVIDIA will sell some version of GP100 for similar price.
And people need to pay attention on new Radeon as well. It would be stupid someone to pay successor of GTX980 600-650$ and than Radeon to launch stronger model with 250W power consumption for same price and dominate in DX11 and DX12.

Wonder how a single pascal will compare to SLI GTX680's for 2560x1440? If it gives me a boost in FPS then looks like I'll only be getting one card. Needs to hurry up.

I am interested as well. I downloaded The Division and got the dreaded "Your computer doesn't meet the minimum requirements to run this game." I have 2 GTX 480's in SLI. Haven't had the need to upgrade or wanted to since these cards have headers and look nasty... but time to upgrade them!

Can't wait. Titan X SC is lovely but at 4k it struggles sometimes. I'll be buying the GP100 Titan as soon as it's out, hopefully an EVGA SuperClocked version again.

After the crap the pulled with the titans and 980 TI why would ever spend a grand on card when they make a faster version for 400 dollars less.
