How does audio card compare to a PS Audio dac? I have the PS audio digital Link and I really like the sound but its limited to 192khz. Any feedback?

By the way I am kind of an audio nut my system is Krell powered and my speakers are Scan Speak Revelators {custom} that I made. Boxes are 2 inches thick with remote mids and tweeters- a mini version of the Wilsons. I am also using twin M&K subs {4 self powered 12's}.

Thanks

192 kHz is already way more than you will ever need.  High sample rates are completely pointless and accomplish nothing other than excessive file sizes and excluding audiences who do not have the audio hardware to hear such high sample rates.  All human-audible sound can be recorded and perfectly reproduced at only a 44.1 kHz (or 48 kHz) sample rate.  This is scientifically and mathematically guaranteed and proven countless times.  If you like your current audio card, there is no reason to consider anything else; higher sample rate is not something you are missing out on.

It's all really good information, but @ 17:29 is a good place to start if you aren't going to listen to the whole thing.  If it piques your interest, feel free to back up and listen to the whole thing on your drive to work or something.

Utterly pointless. For stereo, you will never need anything more than 44.1 kHz at 24 bit (0 Hz to 22 kHz audio range with 0 to 144 dB [worst case] dynamic range). And realistically, usually 44.1 kHz at 16 bit is sufficient (0 Hz to 22 kHz audio range with 0 to 96 dB [worst case] dynamic range). Keep it real. Keep it compatible.

I have on hand a Chord electronics Mojo on hand and that does 768khz 32bit and to me with my gear i find the Nu to give more clarity and dynamics to my audio but your experience may vary as sound is so subjective from person to person.
