I signed up for the 3080 Ti queue and bought it a week after, but it didn't come with the designed box. Weird thing to complain about, I know, but I'm a collector lol. Is my case the exception or did anyone else also not get the box?

May I ask for a picture of the box or at least description of it?
Needless to say, I have seen an non retail box from EVGA before, when I had to RMA card.

It should be original packaging with seals, you got only inside box. This is problem, because if you have wanted to return it, Evga would charge a massive restocking fee. This is how it should look like, thoroughly factory sealed:

Looks like OP was sent a Refurbed model. Thats how refurbs come.
  The que doesn't differentiate between business or personal. The que knows all. The que is life. The que smiles upon us and gives us a time to purchase. Side note: Its a good thing the que isn't like fight club....

so, why would they send kev556 a refurbed card ??
I'd be pissed if I spend $xxxx amount of money and get a
refurb.
I thought when we are in que for gpus , they are for NEW ones
Anyone else get refurb box instead of NEW unsealed box/card from
the que system ??

They probably ran out of boxes and wanted to still send the card. Doesn't look like a big deal to me, still has its warranty also.

A little early for EVGA to be refurbishing a card only a couple of weeks old. I would bet it is just a screw up. BTW...don't EVGA refubs (aka B stock) get a different part number? If so OP can check that.

If you want the box for collection purposes, I saw someone on twitter get a new one as theirs was dented, you can try contacting them for a proper box, maybe works :)
