Forgive the electronic entry in this nitro thread, but I do believe that the Rustler VLX Velinion setup holds its own against a big block nitro reasonably well, and at a significant "noise savings" . My newest child. 3s lithium polymer battery with the velinion brushless engine as well as the VXL-3s speed controller, 133oz/in servo... ABS for almost everything, aluminum for almost all of the rest! It's geared low on purpose, so rather than hit the benchmarks at 70+, it wheelies all the way to 40+ for the first 20 minutes or so of the battery. I love the sound of a well tuned nitro buggy, but it is just too loud for my neighborhood. And the nitro fumes smell exactly like a drunk I know... So electric is the way to go for me. Now if only I could find a way to relocate the engine in FRONT of the rear wheels for better balance.....
The chiefest of human design flaws is sleep.

Jus add small weights to the front to even it out. Most people do anyways haha. It's starting to warm up here in Germany. Time for me to order parts, fix my lovlies up and get to it!

wow, i used to race the electric ones when i was kid, prob from 1989-1993... i had a clod buster, a all graphite RC10 with titanium, a blackfoot truck that i drilled screws thru the tires for extra traction like a idiot, and a monster beetle that i got cheap for parts that i killed :)!!! the rc10 was my pro racer though....love that hobby cause of the modding...when i stopped doin it i ended up gettin into computers and mods cause the kid down the street from me father owned a pc store, so computers took over. he ended up workin for paypal too!! \m/

I can't wait to fire up my Traxxas Slayer again. I think I might mod it out a little more and maybe put a new exhaust on it.

EVGATech_MatthewH @nikkocortez Can you please send one of each to me? :) LoL! Its technicaly the same truck (tamiya TXT) but with two diffrent "robot" bodies. Sadly the Airsoft gun variant was taken apart and the survelance body needs the AV system to be rebuilt due to a freak flip.. .. I didn't have the roll bar installed so it jacked up my Pan/Tilt turret and the AV transmitter. I managed to rebuild the pan/tilt turret and bought a new transmitter but now I'm probably going to sell it for extra cash for my SR-2 build. I built it to take to AFG but my mission changed so now its just a show peice.

I want to get into the boats, but I do have a standard chinese pos called a windhobby that was given to me, it's a 1/16th 4wd truck that should do around 40-50mph.. The pull cord is broke and it is just about impossible to find parts for this guy..

Why dont you upgrade your motor to something else, just do a search for compatible motors, would not be too hard to do. Then you could get it with a pull start or roto-start, or traxxas ez-start. Also with traxxas motors they let you step up, if you want something else, or trade in at a reduced cost. Also Traxxas has a pretty good forum for users there. They also have a for sale or trade thread, but is only for traxxas related parts.

I have thought about changing motors, the only issue though is that the current motor is only a 7cxp i believe, so upgrading would mean a lot of work...
