The only reason why scalpers exists is because ppl are buying from them. :(
The only reason scalpers exist is because NVIDIA insists on doing paper launches and the entire world knows it in advance. NVIDIA is so afraid of leaks that it prefers this mess instead of waiting to build up inventory. If an inventory had been built up scalpers wouldn't be able to sell cards above retailer prices (though I admit it would've had to be an especially large inventory given the demand this time around). But the truth is NVIDIA is going to do paper launches for the 4000's, everyone already knows it. Yes, Newegg notification is useless for anything in strong demand. I've received emails for items out of stock within the seconds it took for me to click them, and I'm not even talking about this truly insane 3000-series launch which is another level altogether.

Yeah well AMD has its chance to impress me. This nvidia 30 series madness is ridiculous, almost nothing in stock, and if there is anything then is crushed via bots, whats more, here in my country retailers started to sell AIB cards for almost over the third higher prices than is stock AIB price. Like yesterday ASUS TUF 250euros more than stock price :D I gave up on this, sad and angry that i sold my 1080ti, considering selling the rest of my build, still better than dust catcher what it is now.

Finally my brother got me one at a local BestBuy , is an Asus Tuf Gaming OC rtx 3090. He told me there were only 2 left the Asus Tuf Gaming OC 3090 and a PNY rtx 3090.
I really want it an evga ftw ultra and i did try my best to buy one here and newegg but i cannot compete with the huge army of bots on the online stores. I have never ever seen anything like this before. At ebay last night there were over 800+ 3080s and 3090s for sale at $3,000US Dollars.
I'm just glad i do not have to play this game of whac a bot anymore on the online stores.

Noticed the same thing. I got notifications about EVGA FTW 3080 (11:40P last night and 8:43A) and Asus TUF 3080 (3:48A and 8:43A) all from Newegg. Not sure how long the first alerts were in stock but the alerts at 8:43A didn't last 2 minutes. None of those, assuming they're real in stock messages and not honey traps for bots, shows up on nowinstock.

Nobody needs to buy the cards at greatly inflated prices from scalpers. They are only doing it because they have the desire to be one of the first with a new toy.

I received 6 email in-stock notifications throughout the day. I re-request auto-notify after each email. Earliest was 5:41am PST and most recent was 18 minutes ago. CSR says no sales today and support is working on the erroneous in-stock email notices. Take this with a grain of salt.

I've had multiple alerts for different sites that notify me when a EVGA card goes in stock somewhere. I'm usually there within a few seconds of the notification yet its still too slow to successfully grab one. Amazon. Newegg. Bestbuy.
EVGA needs to stock up then launch the new checkout/security process with extremely healthy stock. Pretty much all the cards they are sending out to other retailers right now are going mostly to bots.

Just happened to load up Newegg.ca at 7:00CST and the 3080 FTW3 Ultra was available. Hit the last button to complete purchase ... and it was out of stock.

Yep same here got it in cart checking out and it kicked me out. Crazy trying to give them 900 for a card and come out empty handed. Hope AMD comes out with stock so they can have my money.

Don't give up guys! I was almost ready to throw in the towel but made it through the Newegg gauntlet.  I was previously relying on nowinstock and some discord channels but none of those even picked up the stock at Newegg that dropped about 15 minutes ago. I would definitely recommend distill.io monitoring the pages for the out of stock elements. If I hadn't set that up yesterday, there is no way I would have gotten to this in time.

Oh, get ready for the ultimate burn. I happened to be refreshing the newegg app BEFORE they went in stock and saw it the literal INSTANT that it was in. I added it, checked out, I got my confirmation and I did a happy dance! Then I get the follow up email where they VOIDED MY ORDER BECAUSE THE ITEM WAS NOT IN STOCK.

I was sitting at my PC and distill didn't go off. I didn't even have a chance. I know there are tons of sob stories here, but I have literally been seeking at least 12 hours a day since the 17th. I have had cards in cart multiple times and can not complete payment without them being taken out 90% of the time. I've even had two orders voided after purchase. This is beyond a doubt the hardest thing I have ever tried to purchase in my life. Edited for clarity. I'm not trying to buy multiple cards, just one.

I had my distill scan running at a 10s refresh rate but even if you have a 30s setting it should have still triggered if it was set up monitoring the page right.

+1 for distill, only way I got the FTW drop tonight. I had a stream going with nvidia snatcher and some discord notifications but distill was the only reason I got a card. People posting seconds after me didn't get one. I feel more and more people will use distill and it will become harder to get one.

Think about this. We are trying to beat an ai bot that can tell when the item is available instantly, and complete the purchase with shipping instructions instantly. You just can't win. You can't beat the speed of a script. No matter what you do. You really need to get lucky. Go out for a long run. Like a 9 mile run. Then hit the gym and then drink a nice cold beer. Freak all this bs. The cards will be available. No worries. It's really sad that there are over 800 listings on ebay though for over 2k$. That is just not right. Wonder how much nv is ramping up manufacturing. Or do they even care?
