That seems strange...why would it need approval? Not like you haven't posted it before!

Periodically the system tags posts for review by a moderator. It’s normal. Should clear in a little bit.

Got my card and surprised by how big the box is. With that, I'm gonna remove myself from the rest of the notifies and start shopping for the rest of my parts!

Here is the state of the North American queues (bolded font represents movement from Tuesday morning’s summary; italicized parentheticals calculate the length of the movement):

     Card                                 SKU                      Auto-Notify Date/Time

    3080 FTW3 Ultra               3897                     09/17/2020 20:44:52       (+00:45:52)

It moved 6 minutes :D

You are right.  I pulled the delta from the Monday morning comparable not Tuesday morning.  Thanks!  It's a community effort.

So today was a happy day I got the notification for the 08G-P5-3755-KR my time was 10/29/2020 6:10:37 AM PT so I order it and because I live in Canada I have to deal with pretty high shipping cost I believe it was $72 usd and now I just got an email saying I’m gonna owe around $76 usd in import fees which I honestly wasn’t expecting I was expecting maybe $30 if any after reading up on other people’s experiences with import fees, now I am not as happy. Obviously not evga’s fault but still a bummer.

I am so sorry to hear this.  I have zero experience with shipping cross border, but that amount is a really drag.

Unfortunately, Cierra14 already purchased the card.  Hopefully he used my -- or another's -- Associate’s Code at the time of purchase; EVGA won't retroactively apply the 5% discount.

Again, that customs charge is a really downer -- so sorry Cierra14.

I bought my 3080 ultra 3 weeks ago from evga, if they announce a 3080 ti can we step up to that card? I guess they would have to be in the notification system right ?

Back in the 10 series days, I bought a 1080 from EVGA, then stepped up to the 1080ti.  However, I had bought the 1080 only just before the 1080ti was announced.  Given the 3080 is brand new and they haven't even caught up with orders on that, I highly doubt the 3080ti is coming any time soon so most likely it will be beyond the step-up period.

Has anyone here ordered direction from EVGA via normal process or notify queue process from Canada. Are the customs charges part of the shipping or do you get nailed on delivery date with a big fat bill?

Hi, from what I have seen, when you order the choices are only UPS, but the good news as that both qualify for "free" brokerage. You should pay a $10 fee for clearance and your provincial taxes and GST, or HST if that is your thing. There is no duty on computer parts, so that should be your fees.

Not sure if this is just incorrect, or more likely they just love stiffing people but I have had to paid duty several times on computer parts, including orders from EVGA when I was living in Canada.  Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Honestly it is all a crap shoot.  I'd say expect to pay duty on it.

Re: New EVGA.com Notification Checkout Process 2020/11/25 06:40:36 (permalink)
Saw it a few pages back, but I really wished they would have consolidated the queues if they knew they weren't going to be producing specific SKUs. We know that they have this all planned out, and its not like they aren't getting stock for specific cards. They are specifically making ULTRA cards, because profit. I have no issues with a company making money, just that they advertised multiple SKUs with no real intention to fill them. As a logical shopper, I selected the notify for the specific card that I was interested in, based on the information given to the community that stock is limited to you need to be prepared. I thought if I would have got notifications for multiple SKUs, that could have been confusing and potentially slow down checkout. Hindsight 20/20 that was WAY wrong.

Just wish they could have at least asked if we wanted to move to a queue that they were going to fill, and slid us in at a spot that was reasonable.

I also tweeted Jacob a couple days back asking if they are planning on filling any Gaming line cards any time soon and didnt get a response. Last time he responded to me and said "some were filled"

I get you're unhappy with how the queues have been moving, everyone is. But I truly don't think it was their master plan to have various cards and have people sign up to buy them and then never sell them. I just doesn't work like that. Why would a company spends tens of thousands of dollars to create and design a product and put into production to never sell it or to only sell a few of it?? Obviously they want to sell a bunch of them

I think a lot of people are putting EVGA at fault specifically when I am sure a lot of it is our of their control. Sure, it doesn't help they keep adding SKUs but its a business and they have to have multiple offerings to stay competitive

Hindsight is 20/20, you should've signed up for all of the queues for the 3080 (or 3070/3090) so you'd have an option when your number was called

For now, you shouldn't just rely only on the EVGA queue. If you really want a 30 series card and you need it soon (like for Cyberpunk) you need to start using online resources like NowInStock, or a discord or something to try and get in there. In the last 2-3 weeks there have been several opportunities to get cards from Best Buy, Walmart, etc at MSRP. If you don't need the card in a hurry, then eventually your number will be called

Early UPS track watch!

I think you need something stronger, Grandpa Drago, those are the binoculars you typically use for your monitor when you're sitting in front of it

My 3090 is coming via FedEx and is supposed to be here on Friday. Yesterday FedEx texted me and said it was gonna get delivered today but the tracking still says Friday. However! It made it to a nearby city at 5:15am so maybe there's a very slim chance that it makes it onto a truck so I am gonna keep F5ing the tracking every 15-30 mins to see if its out for delivery

Get that card today!

Wait a minute, have some of these SKUs been canceled? Per some of the previous posts it sounds that way. Does that mean EVGA will not be fulfilling orders for certain queues?

No, its just speculation and rumor. Nothing is confirmed, the queues are still moving, just super slowly for some of the base models or close to base

Oh I see. I can understand the assumption then. Also, thinking about it now they would probably remove the product pages if they were canceled.

Delivery time baby

I  was following the UPS truck in the online tracking all day yesterday. He drove by my house like 6 times, before dropping the card off at 6 PM.  My 3080 Xc3 Ultra came with the black lip

Nice, glad you finally got it

I wonder if my 3090 from Walmart will have red or black lips

I bought my 3080 ultra 3 weeks ago from evga, if they announce a 3080 ti can we step up to that card? I guess they would have to be in the notification system right ?

Back in the 10 series days, I bought a 1080 from EVGA, then stepped up to the 1080ti.  However, I had bought the 1080 only just before the 1080ti was announced.  Given the 3080 is brand new and they haven't even caught up with orders on that, I highly doubt the 3080ti is coming any time soon so most likely it will be beyond the step-up period.

My guess is that the "3080Ti" is already released, aka, the 3090.  I mean, the 3090 is priced only slightly higher than the past "Ti" high end cards and definitely not as high as the prior generations "Titan" series.  I also heard somewhere that Nvidia was dropping the "Ti" naming scheme but that may very well be speculation.

Some distributors aren't taking orders for a few models given the low availability.  So, while those models aren't discontinued per EVGA, they are darn near impossible to find in the wild (or for the queue apparently).  The effect is that they may have well been cancelled.
