Hello all, I'm a newbie here. I have built a new computer using a MSI B360M PRO-VDH Motherboard and the GeForce 1660 Ti. When I power up, I get a "no signal" message, I have tried different HDMI cables to no avail. I can't get to BIOS because I receive no signal to my monitor. What am I doing wrong? Thank you in advance, Bill R (wrayer)

Can you get a signal using the motherboards hdmi port? If yes, go into the bios and disable the igpu and set your primary graphics to pci-e. If doing those two things don’t help then the hdmi output on your gpu is most likely faulty. You can verify if it’s faulty by testing the gpu in another known good working system.

Thank you Sajin, No, I get no signal from the motherboards HDMI either. Is it the motherboard that is bad, or the GeForce card? Bill R

Maybe your monitor needs to be set to use HDMI as the input in it's settings.

What Bob said. Does the machine beep to let you know it POSTed? Does the machine boot or show a display without the GPU installed?

Ok, I tested the Grahpics Card (GTX 1660) on my old computer. It worked fine. But in my new build I get "no signal". I'm thinking a GPU problem, but now, that's way beyond me. I am a plug and play guy. Don't know what RMA is, so don't know how to address that issue. Thanks freakdaddy64 and kougar for your ideas! Bill R

No, R AM = Random Access Memory R MA = Return Merchandise Authorization In other words, getting it replaced under warranty.

If it works in your old PC when you tested it on it, it is not the graphics card. Do you have another graphics card that can be tested to see if it works in the new build? Have you had any graphics card installed in the new build other than the GTX1660 in question? Are you putting the graphics card in the primary (1st) PCIe slot on the new motherboard? I would start to suspect something wrong with your new motherboard.

If the card works fine in your old pc then the gpu is not the problem. Are you able to get a signal over the motherboards hdmi port with the graphics card removed from the system?

Yeah, does the board boot up , fans spin ...? Alot of reviews on Newegg seem to mention getting a DOA products ( Dead On Arrival ) ,, or having to flash the BIOS before the cpu will be recognized. Sounds like you are having the same thing .

Yes I am beginning to suspect the motherboard aka_STEVE_b Board boots (I think) because the fans spin. plash the BIOS before the cpu will be recognized. This has no meaning to me??? Thanks guys, I am having the motherboard checked. I got that from a friend. I am not looking forward to removing the new intel 7 chip...arghhh! Thanks

What i7 CPU do you have that you are using in the board?

Most Intel CPUs have a built-in graphics capability. Remove the GPU from the computer and connect the display to the motherboard port. Then boot the system and see if that works... if it does, then you can update your BIOS and then try the 1660 again.

This sounds just like a motherboard issue. If you have a B360m board, what CPU is it?

I have installed an i7 9700K. I did not try removing the graphics card then booting from the motherboard. I will try that to see what happens. Bill R

Likely the BIOS on that motherboard is out of date for the B360 series and will need to be flashed to work with 9th gen, I would consider reaching out to MSI if you haven't or finding a local PC shop with access to a 8th gen and having them flash it.

Thanks. That is about the conclusion I came to also. I am looking into getting the BIOS flashed and will let let the board here know what happens. Thanks again. Bill R
