My step son is trying to download battle.net on his PC. Every time we get to 89% it hangs.
I've looked on the Blizzard forums and done everything there possible. Deleted anti virus, changed network settings, deleted all files and tried to reinstall even updated drivers.
I thought I'd be smart so I copied my battle.net folder, put it on a thumb drive and installed it on his PC. He was able to log in and see his account but when he went to install overwatch it just sits there and does nothing.

I've jacked with this for 5 hours I need some help please!

Folding whatever I can :o)

The problem might be the website you are downloading not your pc

Those who abuse power, are nothing but scumbags! The challenge of power is how to use it and not abuse it. The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. You can take a nice person and turn them into a slob, into an insane being, craving power, destroying anything that stands in their way.

Sometimes I've experienced a huge slowdown towards the end of a download.

How long does yours hang?  I'd just leave it and check up on it every 30-60mins.

Been quite a few years since I used battlenet... does it allow you to change the download server like steam? If so try picking a different server or region.

Try a different download source but make sure you virus scan the executable file:

The weird part is, I copied the battle.net folders from my PC that I know worked. I pasted them into his program files and he was able to launch battle.net and log into his account. It showed he had overwatch available to download (he had it on his PC at his dads house) but when he clicks on install it does nothing. I assume Its lookin for a file to go to but I don't know where or a name for it.

    Maybe it's firewall/router/ISP related?

That’s the only other thing I can think of. Just not sure what to do with the router

Found this, it may apply to your situation, they do mention specifically not being able to download anything.  Step/Point 3 may be the trick you need, may not.  Hope you get it sorted.
