Hi everyone. As I started playing a less demanding game 2 days ago, my GPU (Evga RTX 2070 XC) fans kept running on and off, as the game pushes the temps just about the fans threshold for turning on (and it is bothering me because it makes a constant clicking sound). I heard a solution can be setting a custom fan curve in Precision X1, but I have no clue how to do that. I did a quick search on google, and found no helpful guides, either. Is anyone able to explain to me how to do it, please? It would be most appreciated.

Just adjust the fan speed/temp points to what you find acceptable.

Hey, thanks. I actually opened this video already. Sadly, it briefly go over all the features of the software, as it is a quick overview of the whole thing. I couldn't find out how to properly do it. For example, I can see this interface in the software:

https://i.imgur.com/ulJZK7h.png

Say I wanted to make it so the GPU fans are always on at 1c+, with 30% fan speed. Which button do I press/what do I do next? I got an idea what I should do, but I'm just not sure, and I don't tinker with technical things if I don't actually know what I'm doing.

You'd move the point circled in red to the green dot, then make sure enable automatic control is selected, then click apply to bring everything into effect.

Thank you very much. I wasn't aware that "Enable Automatic Control" option must be ticked on. This worked.

I have a few more questions though if that's okay:

- Am I able to add more threshold points in the fan curve? I currently have 4 in total

- Do I need to have the software turned on at all times for these settings to be applied (at all times)? It is not a problem though if so

- Do I need to create a profile of some sort to save my settings adjustments, or is clicking "Apply" all I needed to do to get the change in effect 100%?

Thank you in advance.

Oh, and one more question; do you know what's the default fan curve Evga implemented in the RTX 2070 (XC version)? Because I'm not able to replicate it using Precision X1 (it seems to have its own fan curve as default).

#1 Yep, simply left click on the line where you want to add more points.
#2 Yes.
#3 To save/retain the settings on reboot you'll definitely need to save the settings to a profile.
#4 No, I don't know what the default curve is.

Thank you! The only thing I need to know now is how to create a profile. After I configured the curve, I clicked apply then save, but I didn't see a way to "create" a profile in the traditional way. Maybe I'm missing something?

On a side note: I ticked on these settings: https://i.imgur.com/sJ8Jljv.png was this the right thing to do? Also, after I start my PC, the software opens up (as intended), but if/when I right-click it from the tray menu, it terminates itself. Is that a bug?

On more question: What's the 0-9 listed numbers in a column to the right of the software interface?

Once you have your settings /fan curve where you like, you can save to a profile. That is what that column of numbers to the right are for, they are profile numbers.

To save settings to profile, left click on a profile number to select that slot. It will turn purple.  Then click on the Save button. That will save the settings to that profile slot. To load the profile afterwards, just left click on the saved slot ( it will be purple), and click on the Load button. Now your profile is loaded and running.
