If you're a studio animator or professional the new Turing professional quadro cards from NVIDIA are available for preorder. The RTX 6000 is priced at USD $6,300, and a quantity limitation of 5 per customer is in place. The RTX 5000, on the other hand, is priced at $2,300. The $10,000 RTX 8000, which isn't open to pre-orders yet, arms the TU102 with a whopping 48 GB of memory, and higher clocks than the RTX 6000. Even for a professional card I find that very expensive.

    They are signifying it has ray tracing cores. That’s all. The Quadro rtx was launched before the rtx 20 series, so technically the 20 series was named after the Quadro.

    Quadro gtx was never a thing.

    It's what happens when marketing gets their hands on things. Nvidia marketing has lost it's mind this time around. I'm dizzy from all the RTX spin. There are several interesting things about the Turing series that Nvidia just gloss over because it's not a part of the primary marketing script right now. I just don't understand their marketing prioritization. I'm much more interested in the new VR port spec and the current iteration of NVLink.

    Skipping this generation just because of all the overly hyped and first gen ray racing. $1K for a gamer GPU it better be perfect out the gate
