wccftech - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 SUPER Rumored To Feature Full GA102 GPU With 10752 CUDA Cores & Over 400W TGP “NVIDIA doesn't seem to be stopping at the GeForce RTX 3090 as its flagship Ampere graphics card and preparing a SUPER refresh of the card with the full GA102 GPU. Currently, the GeForce RTX 3090 serves as NVIDIA's flagship gaming offering but the green team wants to take things up a notch with the upcoming SUPER refresh. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 SUPER is expected to feature the full-fat GA102 GPU core, faster clocks, and a huge requirement in terms of power, as rumored by Greymon55. At the heart of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 SUPER graphics card will be the GA102 GPU. The GPU is based on Samsung's 8nm custom process node designed specifically for NVIDIA and features a total of 28 Billion transistors. It measures at 628mm2 which makes it the 2nd biggest gaming GPU ever produced right below the Turing TU102 GPU. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 will be the first gaming graphics card to feature the full GA102 GPU with a total of 84 SM units that would result in a total of 10752 CUDA cores. This would be a 2.5% increase in core count but the rumor also states that the graphics card will feature a TGP of over 400W. We could expect a 5% performance increase which would be in line with previous 'SUPER' launches from NVIDIA. It is likely that NVIDIA could cut MSRPs on existing cards and replace them with these newer SUPER refreshes at the same MSRP early next year. NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 30 SUPER Series are reportedly going into production this quarter and we can expect a launch within the first half of 2022.” There is more information in the article. The last paragraph is interesting in what it implies. I honestly believe that there will be very limited stock for these on release. As someone said in the forums about a game, this may end up being the re-remaster of NIVIDIA GPU releases.

better not be LHR for the price you'll be paying and faster GDDR T he part would feature full GA102 silicon with 10752 CUDA cores and even faster memory. really???? you already can fry eggs with it even with the coolers on it already the backside of the board is gonna get mighty hot without some better cooling methods on most cards

At this point it is still a "rumor," however the chip shortage is still with us and will be for some time. So, there is a limited allocation of wafers/chips to NVIDIA. Which brings up the question as to what SKUs will NVIDIA dump in order to manufacture the "Supers?"

Just a day after Greymon55 broke the news about the upcoming RTX 3090 SUPER SKU, another respected leaker kopite7kimi shares more details on the supposed flagship SKU. RTX 3090 SUPER: ~450W of power?It seems that GeForce RTX 3090 SUPER power consumption is growing by the day. According to Greymon55, the TDP of RTX 3090 SUPER is expected at higher than 400W. Kopite appears to agree with this rumor, but he further adds that this SKU’s TGP is equal to or higher than 450W, a 100W more than RTX 3090. Do note this might simply be a typo and he actually means under 450W. This amount of power will likely force AIBs to use three 8-pin power connectors by default (allowing 450+75W of power). Alternatively, a single Molex 12-pin power connector should be sufficient as it provides a maximum of 648W of power. RTX 3090 SUPER: 1 TB/s memory bandwidth?Furthermore, it is said that the RTX 3090 SUPER would be the first NVIDIA RTX 30 graphics card to feature 21 Gbps memory. Last year before NVIDIA even confirmed that RTX 30 series are coming, a memory manufacturer Micron confirmed that the then-upcoming RTX 3090 would offer memory speed between 19 to 21 Gbps. I hope so, because looking at the lists, I don't have a snowball's chance in a supernova of getting one of the existing 3090 KP cards, so my only hope would be a 3090 Super KP iteration.

We may still have a chance in the current lists, tiny one, but a chance. If there is a super kingpin, I'm afraid that the release date will be significantly worse than before as there are a heck of a lot more eligible people.
