Their new M2X external M.2 enclosure will allow users to create an external storage solution via a DIY kit. This is very cool because you can take an M.2 NVMe SSD and turn it into an external storage medium that is small and light weight and very fast.

    NICE! This has been a worry for me for a while. We started purchasing all new desktops and laptops with nvme drives. It will be nice to pull data from an nvme without having to install the drive in another computer to do so.

    The drive itself is fast, but the choke point is going to be how you connect to it.

    That is definitely true but I still think the speed is better than an external SSD.
