Interestingly, when I originally had my overheating issues I repasted. Card goes from 79c down to late 60s, but then slowly starts creeping up until it was hitting mid 70s again, then I moved to the Kraken G12 / H55 AIO setup, my temps went from 77c down to the 60 to 65 range. But slowly over the past few months the temps are creeping up and up until they are now hitting max again. All fans and pump working as they always have at the same speeds. Is it possible that a GPU die may not be totally flat? Can this cause a separation with the cooler heat sink as time goes on, if this is what the problem that is? Could a kraken G12 be heavy enough to pull away from a GPU die?

Weak pump maybe? What thermal paste did you reapply with?

My first suspicion is the thermal paste. Are you using a super runny high performance thermal paste? Sounds like thermal paste pump-out effect. The highest performance conventional thermal pastes don't last long before they squeeze out and you start having contact issues. Try applying a greater quantity of denser thermal paste. Arctic Silver 5 is not winning any performance crowns, but it is remarkably competitive after all of these years, and usually lasts for a decent amount of time before the pump-out effect takes its toll. That's the experiment I would perform. Every one of your previous attempts had one thing in common: replacing the thermal paste. Replacing the thermal paste will fix the pump-out effect problem, but if you use the same thermal paste every time, the pump-out effect will just re-occur. Try using a different thermal paste, if you haven't already.

Could be a number of things as posted above. Have you checked the radiator for possible dust build up? But also take into account we are in the dead heat of August and I know my temps on my rigs have risen because of it. I'm up almost 10C on both of my rigs from what they usually run at when not summer time. Even with liquid cooling you are still bound by the laws of thermodynamics. You will never get your gear cooler than ambient and with a higher starting point you will also reach a higher ending point in temps unless you have active cooling like a chiller or something more exotic.

The paste has been Arctic MX-4. So the recommendation is Arctic Silver 5? I just did a search for Arctic Silver 5 vs Arctic MX-4 and boy it's a brutal war out there lol. I do remember doing my first CPU and aftermarket cooler with arctic silver, temps barely raised by a few C in the three years I used it so you might be onto something. I am not sure about summer being fully to blame, while I did notice the gradual rise, FF15 was averaging around 69c, we've had stable temps here around 80c to 84f (26c to 28c), but over the past three weeks or so I've watched the temps in the game go 69c to 74c to 77c and now throttling at 80c, so maybe around an extra 3c each week to throttle cap, even though ambient temps were almost the same. You might be onto something regarding the radiator dust, will crack it open tomorrow to see. (Not literally ;) Sajin what did you mean by weak? Slower RPMs? First day of testing was 1400s on high, and it is still that today.

Sounds like either the AIO is deteriorating or higher ambient temps.

What ya thinkin about? On a side note, the idle temp stays around 26c to 28c so it seems to match the summer temps.

How long have you been using the H55 ? If it's been a long time it's quite possible the micro fins on the copper heat plate have become gunked up , check out a few videos of what can grow out of nothing in a water cooling loop it does not take much to plug up those fins. At some point everything needs maintenance , try taking it apart and have a look at the insides. If it's dirty clean it up , flush the rad and put new coolant in it and see what happens.

The H55 AIO is a sealed loop. Can't take it apart for maintenance, etc. Different than the custom loops you're thinking of.

I know what the H55 is It's still just a Pump , a Rad and a Water Block filled with coolant

You can take it apart for maintenance. It's actually REALLY easy. Let the radiator and tubing dangle below, unscrew these 8 screws, then tip it over a bowl or bucket. Then clean the cold plate, and pour new coolant in until you can't add any more. Temporarily close it up, move it all around and try to get the air out of the radiator, open it back up, and add more coolant. Repeat as necessary.
