Can anybody help me regarding these temps, the card itself is practically new, wasn't used almost at all, still has the wrappings on the shroud (fans excluded), so the card was never used, let alone tortured in any way. So it's condition is literally like new. I would like to ask experienced evga forum members and users if I maybe need to update bios for my card since i know i can "manually" adjust fan targets in other programs but i prefer having nothing turned on while gaming.
Thanks in advance

For God's sake, take the wrapping off of the shroud. Leaving the wrapping on is a hazard and serves no benefit. It's not like it's a collector's item or anything. The single fan card tends to run warm and is rather noisy. Rather normal. 83c is not excessively hot.

Hi DajteMiPrize and welcome to the EVGA forums! Although 83 is warm, the card should still perform according to specs and as ty_ger07 suggested, remove all the plastic wrappers. You can manually turn on the fans and set up a custom fan curve using https://www.evga.com/precisionx1/ Also consider your intake and exhaust fan configuration in your case to get the most optimal air flow.

Thank you both for answering!
I will remove the plastic wrappers.
I would still be grateful if you could provide me with the original bios for my card, because I am a little worried that it might act like this if somehow someone in the past edited any parameters or maybe there is some newer and more reliable bios version for this card. I also think it's wierd to have 83c always max under load because it's not going up or down no matter which game or stress test I put it trough.
Had the the opportunity to try the same card which was also like new, only SC variant, few days ago in my machine, and it's max temps were 69-70c under heavy load.
That's another reason I am worried for this little card.
Thank you all in advance for your answers!

Yeah the single fan Super Clocked 1060 had a much bigger heatsink. Also before you get all to worried about what BIOS the card is running check it with TechPowerUp GPU-Z , and if you want post here so maybe others can tell you if it's wrong or not. Edit: Look past the fans below. There are dual heatpipes + more copper on SC. Non-SuperClockedSuperClockedUnderneath SC heatsink

Well, that explains everything (or at least the most). Noticed that SC had more silverish heatsink under the fan, while the non SC had black. I was curious if it had better quality heatsink overall or not, but it was too late to check since the SC variant was no longer in my possesion. Thank you very much for that info. Here is the gpu-z screenshot with the bios version. Couldnt find on techpowerup's site non SC bios for 1060 6GB.

I have the sc but mine would run to 83.....and fan at like 100 percent. I pulled the fan and found hardly any thermal paste on the chip. Swapped paste and runs in the 60s with fan in the 30s. Check warranty before you try that though. Ive also hear the non sc cards run quite a bit hotter.

That BIOS ( 86.06.63.00.60 ) I found in this thread GTX1060 6GB SSC BIOS (06G-P4-6267-KR) Edit: And is kinda odd because a SSC is a dual fan unit and should be overclocked even more that the SC single fan unit ... but this thread is about a non factory overclocked single fan GTX 1060 6GB? Edit2: The clocks speeds are correct.

EVGA allows the user to replace TIM or Heat sink - though stock heat sink must be reinstalled for RMA purposes - Just do Not Damage the card

Everyone is allowed to replace the thermal paste and as long as nothing is broken in the process you will not void EVGA's warranty.
