Yep, I'm waiting as well for release and third party hardware reviews in 2017.

Auuu he arrive in March... People will build platforms in April/Juny/July 2017... competitive with Intel from September 2014...
    Still 3 months behind.
And 4 months after him arrive Skylake our version - XTREME.
Intel X299 Chipset with 6-8-10 Cores.
Price could be 400-600-1000$ if AMD have something really really good and all of them 48 PCI-E lanes + 20 Chipset.
If not price will be higher 499-999-1499 example (6-8-10).
And Intel or his customers can't lose in any combination.
    Intel domination will continue.

Intel is not scheduled to release Skylake-X until the last quarter of 2017. If AMD can match current X99 2011-3 CPU performance at a significantly lower price point in Q1 2017 they could do very well financially.

You think Skylake Extreme will be launched at the end of 2017?
WOW nice life time of X99, really worth investing in Intel Xtreme budget variants.
I mean performance will be OK even until end of X299 but newer is better.
I think AMD will launch max same performance as i7-5820K on stock clock.
If I find some i7-6900K ES for cheap AMD will never reach my performance level when we overclocked CPU on same level.
8 Cores vs 8 Cores, that's fair, not 6 cores vs 8 cores...
I still hope I will find some ES 8 core Broadwell-EX among bunch of Xeons ES for cheap price.
Than we will see how AMD deal with 1 year older Intel on 3 years older chipset.

What is wrong with that picture? It's just a poor rendering? The perspective is all wrong. It's warped and part of it is 2d with shadows to try to make it look 3d and other parts are 3d.

If the motherboard guys are excited about AMD again that bodes well for us, they where not excited for Bulldozer/pile driver AM3+ and it showed by the products they released and the lack of attention they paid to their own AM3+ products. If they are truely excited that means they expect to sell boards, alot of boards.
