Microsoft Adds Backward Compatibility to Xbox Cloud Gaming Beta | TechPowerUp
 
Microsoft has recently announced an expansion of their Xbox Cloud Gaming Beta with the addition of backward compatibility for select Xbox 360 and original Xbox titles. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can now stream 16 backward compatible games through the Xbox Cloud Gaming Beta (formally Project xCloud). Microsoft has also enabled touch support for select titles while the rest will require a controller, the games are currently only playable on Android with no support for Apple devices. Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers with a compatible device can now try out backward compatibility and you can view the complete list of available games below.

  • Double Dragon Neon
  • Fable II
  • Fallout: New Vegas
  • Gears of War 2
  • Gears of War 3
  • Gears of War: Judgment
  • Jetpac Refuelled (touch controls enabled)
  • Kameo
  • Perfect Dark
  • Perfect Dark Zero
  • The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
  • The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
  • Viva Piñata (touch controls enabled)
  • Viva Piñata: TIP (touch controls enabled)
Android device users will be pleased I believe.

    I love how much microsoft is showing respect for its older games and letting them live on.

    Agreed, it's one of the great benefits of pc gaming, that many or most games can still be played somehow, instead of tossed aside every 6-7 years when a new box comes out.

    Now the only thing I'm missing is the access to the beta lol

    Since I don't own a console it'd be nice having just one more perk from my Ultimate subscription (plus I need it to complete all those gamepass quests that can't be done on PC...)

    That used to be the case but not anymore. The new Xbox Series will play all of your Xbox one games, no need to toss them out. In fact the new Xbox will play a lot of the older games better with the new hardware. It's nice playing older games like Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 which came out on the OG Xbox and 360 on my new Xbox Series X now in 4K and HDR. My old Xbox games have never looked so good.
