Personally I don't see Matrox going anywhere unless they can come up with some type of discrete graphics cards.  

Maybe they can supply the graphic card in the next atari.... 

I think Matrox has been an AIB for Radeon the last decade. Matrox was more meaningful when multi-display didn't have AMD Eyefinity or Nvidia Surround for commercial video walls. What are they planning in 2020 that makes them more relevant? Changing ownership does not mean relevance.

This is great news hopefully for the best.  I still have the Matrox multi monitor adapter in case it becomes a pricey souvenir to have.
