$700 is very little money for a custom made watercooling case with the craftmanship that LD Cooling is putting into these PC cases. These things are built to last a very long time.

When is something too expensive? Well, when you don't get what you pay for, then it is too expensive.. So 700$ is fine, IMO, cause you get what you pay for..

$700 is a house payment, or a rent payment, or 2-3 car payments for some people, I like the design, but there's literally no way, ever, that I'd pay that much for just a case, ever (not even if it had a killer airbrushed design on it, like those CM cases that you could get online awhile back).  $250 for the TT Level 10 is too much even.

Last time I checked cooler master doesn't put together their case piece by piece, by hand. Explains why I've never had a HF 932 with side panels that correctly align with the rest of the case. Lian-Li and Silverstone along with Little Devil cases know how to make the real deal. I would easily toss $700+ on a case with this kind of craftsmanship. Luckily Lian Li and Silverstone cases are a much cheaper alternative.

I've used nearly all CM cases so far, not too many Haf's though, and I'm not too huge a fan of those anyway, but I've never once had a single issue with anything mis-aligning, etc.  And as for assembly, it kinda has to be done by hand, cuz it would be awfully hard to program a machine to assemble them.  It's not like a car, where the machine moves the pieces in place for the people on the assembly line to bolt, rivet, etc., these are small parts that pretty much have to be assembled by hands and small tools.

Now, I do like the designs of these cases, however I still can't justify a $700 price with them, it's simply way too much.  Even if I was a millionaire, I'd still want it for cheaper if I were to get it, it's just that simple.  I understand that a ton of man-hours went into the design work, etc., but once that's done, you set up a stamping or cnc machine and let 'er rip, and then use a bending brake for the bends, and a drill, a tap, and finally the parts go to the oven to be baked.  Then it's assembled and boxed up, and finally put on a rack or shipped out.

I used to make doors, jambs and roof cupolas for a living, so I know what that kind of work entails, and honestly the hardest and longest thing about it is the designing, after that there's not much to it really.  And the 1st ones are the hardest, cuz u have to make sure the dies and/or cnc are set correctly.  The initial runs are hit-n-miss 9/10 of the time.

All three of my HAF 932's had issues with the side panels not closing properly. I have to use a little excessive force to close it and put in the thumbscrew. I even ordered a new windowed side panel from CM and still have the problem. As a matter of fact the hole for the thumbscrews are actually getting larger from removing and attaching the side panel. Something about machine made parts just doesn't fit right compared to hand made.

You seriously don't think that these LD cases are made by hand-cutting and forming every single piece do you?  All case manufacturers use machinery to do stamping, cnc milling, etc.  Only the initial concept work is done by hand, and sometimes not even that.  If you believe these cases aren't made using machinery, you're in for a surprise, I guarantee it.  Not trying to be a jerk, but facts are facts.  I've personally handled thousands upon thousands of different cases, and not even all of a same model are made 100% exactly the same, there are always minor issues here and there, but 1 thing they all have in common is that if they're mass produced (and even a lot that aren't), they're made using machines.

I'm sure machinery is used no doubt, if there wasn't I'm sure the case wouldn't look anywhere near as good as it does. I'm just saying a lot more care and attention is put into said cases, something a machine CAN'T do.

I still have yet to understand where you're going with this, considering it sounds as if you're saying that machines are designing these cases, which would mean we're in the days of the terminators or something, lol.  All PC cases are designed by humans (well some of them you'd swear a retarded monkey on crack designed, but still, my point is valid, lol), it's just that some people choose to design them with everyone in mind, and others target specific needs and groups of people.  This is why we have such a ridiculously huge array of cases available, and it grows more and more every year, but of course the old ones are EOL at some point as well, but there have been literally thousands of mass-produced PC cases since home computing began.

LD's cases are fully Alum cases, i believe guys, so you can see where some of the expense is coming in. my lian li is all alum, but not quite as big. the quality is def there and that was over 300.00. you only get two colors though too, black or silver. of course, ill probably never buy another case again, or at least for a very long time...which is what you can do with LD's cases. you really shouldnt ever need another case. i just went through a issue very similar to this situation. i roll my own cigs. in NJ they cost 80.00 a carton!! so the machine i bought to roll them with was 20.00, and it broke after 6 months. it was a plastic chunk of garbage. so now i have to buy the metal good machine that cost 45.00...but if i had bought that machine to start with i wouldnt be spending 80.00 on a carton, plus 45.00 on a new machine etc... while i wait for the new machine to come. so sometimes what seems like a big hit in the beginning really isnt when you do it right the first time. maybe 700.00 for a quality case of any color that CAN last you a lifetime is worth the dough. i guess its all in your perspective though.

I'm surprised nobody here on the mods board went with the Chameleon color paint job that changes color in the light. Although, it would cost in the thousands of dollars just to get it but probably would top any case mod paint job here.

I am definately going to have to consider one of these.  That black and red is just awesome.  Now the matter is getting a check from the school, rebuilding a WC system for my current CPU and then a new case lol.  Oh, and I have to convince the other half to let me spend that kind of money on a case lol.
