Is it possible to plug other brand rgb fans into the Lian Li Unifan's controller, such as a Thermaltake argb fan for example?  Or does the Lian Li Unifans use a propriety plug? Thanks.

No, the only proprietary part is the connector to the fans themselves. The controller uses industry standard 3 & 4 pin connectors for fan & RGB control.

no they have special plugs. but if you can do some type of soldering you might be able to manage. they still use similar type 4 pin connection. just a proprietary molex plug.
