yes go for it the new cpu and x299 dark are killer actually all of evga x299 mb, are big jump. with the intel ssd in u2's in raid 0. I would suggest one of the 7900 cpu so you get the full 44 lanes . even if you start small and reuse your 2 titian x's for now . you will see jump in what they can do. i'm building a 7908x on the drak and using 2 intel 900p ssd's -n raid 0 (u2)64G band . and I got 2 new kingpins to try in it . but if they don't do what I want I can back up to my titianX's Nvidia (pascal) that I have. so I think it a sound idle. also i.m making move from x99 classie.

Go for it, internet enthusiasts run like chicken without get for patches for nothing less than Silicon flaw in all Intel Processors.
Every single day, we will faced with new negative sides of this problem.
Every single day new disapointing news will wait us when we start to read about hardware.
And do you know what, immediately when Intel launch new chip he and his damage control service will turn 360 degree and than you will know how big is damage.
They should get medal how they success to calm everything down for such big problems.
I don't know what happen with Military and their equipment, Inteligence service, NSA, CIA, NASA....
There is a many countries who don't have what to hide but now will start race who will neutralize Intel patch faster USA, Russia, China, UK, Israel. If they pass throught with much secure environment they will easy abuse flaw deep in Silicon. Only to neutralize patch and computer is open Book with decreased performance.
After I talk with guy who work for IT companies and information technologies on western balkan and he know everything about computers when I was kid and now special I didn't search for single patch and update. And he didn't, he very rear have time to enable own PC but will replace as soon as possible when show up silicon without bug.
Intel could talk to retarder how they fix completely Silicon flaw with few lines of codes, several patches and BIOS updates, normal people are aware what happen from moment when they heard when is problem.
There is one rule in trading world, profile of customers their tolerance create profile and politic of seller.

Intel strategy was Lets bomb them with fixes, patches, promisses, updates, to lose self completely, they will don't know what to do first and what they wait and what should do and they will forgot what we done to IT world.
Trying to be secure they will forgot on performance impact.

After I uninstalled Windows patch from 4 January I swear I felt like you OC CPU and Memory and moment when you boot PC and recognize that everything is somehow more faster, better react until you used on better performance. That was impression when I removed patch, but Image Editing results is not full restored, only half. I didn't want to talk because someone from damage control would say Hahahaha impact of surfing, no way... hahaha... Today I hear officialy someone meantion that together with other stuff, surfing, Java scripts, etc... visible impact...
