QueueCumber I just ordered the Dark Kingpin mobo for the EK-QuantumX Delta TEC I have on pre-order. Eventually I'd like to have the KP on that setup and see what I can pull off with the extended memory OCs. I'll switch the MSI Unify in my setup to my son's PC and give him my 10700k that hits 5.1GHz. I'm still fairly disappointed that there are no Z490 SLI options for the 3090s unless you go with PCIe extenders and put the cards loose in the case. Albeit, with the Thermaltake Level 20 XT I will have room to do that. I really want to play with both the 5950x and 10900k in 3090 SLI modes.
Nice, thats basically the same setup I'm building for myself with G.Skill 4266c17
Any tips? For people putting together a 5950x setup, the CL14 G.Skill 3900MHZ hits the sweetspot for the 5950x perfectly and hits 14-15-15-30 at 1900Mhz fabric clk. Not sure about the 4000Mhz options, but they weren't working out well for me (not sure if it is bios or a bad bin). I do have a second 5950x on the way in December at some point. Edit: I wanted to add that 5900x may hit the 2k fclk easier, so people using that and not the 5950x may be able to go that route.
I got a 5950x as well; although I'm waiting for the newly optimized gskill ryzen 5000 kits. My 3600MHZ will hold me over just fine until then.
I went with the CL14 3600MHz 64Gb kit for my 5950x. As far as I could tell this is the only option at 3600MHz/CL14 to get guaranteed dual rank memory and 4 DIMMS, the latter of which is very important to Zen3 performance .

Yeah, I saw the performance improvement with 4 dimms. But do you really need a verified 4 dimm kit? Couldn't you use two 2-dimm kits?

Not a mailing list, but your best bet is to follow Jacob and TeamEVGA on twitter. They tend to try to announce them ahead of time on there. This is very helpful advice, thanks!!!

I could see EVGA having a "soft close" today around 3 pm; I would be surprised if any "invite to purchase" emails go out to any of the queues after 2 pm today.

Why is that? The tech folks at EVGA are working a full day until 10 pm PST. I would think everyone else is still working a full day, too.

I would think customer service and tech support would have the full day -- all essential services, but corporate folks and...possibly shipping...in light of the 8 hour purchase window...I could see them electing to call it an early day. To be clear, 100% speculation on my part.

Lol yeah I know. That’s my point. Why would they let everyone in the company leave early the day before a holiday, but make the tech support people stay till 10 pm? Doesn’t track.

Yep. It’s all speculation and therefore probably not all that useful for planning purposes. Shipping appears to stop taking new orders for dispatch today at 2 pm, but that doesn’t mean that auto notify emails can’t still go out until the end of the day. So everyone should keep watching their emails until close of business.

I originally this impression also. After watching a number of videos (one from gamer Nexus) that looked at not only the new Ryzen but also the current Intel chips, there seems to be a noticeable improvement from dual rank memory. https://www.youtube.com/w...ab_channel=GamersNexus https://www.youtube.com/w...hannel=HardwareUnboxed

1000W should easily be sufficient unless you plan to start running LN2 pots on your rig or SLI. I have an 850 T2 but am waiting on a 1000 T2 for my new build. Just need a 3090 FTW3 GPU water block to go with it.

I grabbed a Corsair HX1200 from Best Buy the other day for 240. For me, that seemed like the best deal for someone that wont do LN2 and wont run multi GPU.

Are you planning to run more then 1 card? I really think 1000W on a quality supply should be enough. I just got a 1000W PSU myself (SuperNova 1000W T2) "upgrading" from a Cosair AX1200W(it was 10yrs old). I toyed with this choice myself and truth is without running 2 cards I do not see going over 800W even when benching at the highest loads. My current build tends to however around 550-600W with some transitory spikes into the 700s. This is with a Titan Xp that is OCed so not the load my 3090 KP will experience but even 200W more on the KP would still yield OK power levels for benchmarks... I cannot see games getting anywhere close to that. That being said, I am not expert and could certainly be wrong but this is what i have read here on the forums and is also what EVGA told me over the phone.

Mathieas Are you planning to run more then 1 card?
No, I am not. I think the waiting process has just gotten to me so much so that I am second guessing everything. Idle minds, idle hands, etc. etc. Thanks to everybody for the feedback and setting me back into reality. Much appreciated!

I will use my 1200P2, but if I was buying a power supply today I would get something with 1600w. I like having the option to go LN2. You never know when the 3090 KPE will show up on the b-stock page dirt cheap, so having the option to run a second card is nice too. Plus, I want the PSU to run fanless under most loads to avoid dust buildup. I know the small power supply crew is a rabid bunch and they will defend their penny pinching to the death, but just my input. PSUs should last 10 years, so it makes sense to pay more, especially when we are buying $2k GPUs.
Main: 10700k @ 5.4ghz, 3090 K|NGP|N Hydrocopper, 4x8 @4300 16-16-16-36, EVGA 1200 P2, MSI Z490 Unify, 5 radiators, 2 pumps. Heavily modified Evolv ATX Travel size: Zen3 5800H, RTX 3060 Laptop GPU w/unlocked bios, 2x16 Kingston HyperX 3200 C20

Absolutely Enewt, I completely understand. I had precisely the same worry and concerns. This wait is/has been brutal. I keep having to check my own impatients vs getting the product I really want(KP). I passed up the air cooled 3090 FTW3 and those 8hrs were more difficult then I care to admit :-P. All of your posts that have been tracking progress and keeping comms open has helped tremendously with keeping that "progress is being made" feeling alive! Thank you again!

I'm refreshing a little more often today just to see what kind of rate they are going to trickle these things out at. Would be nice if they tossed out 25 a week or so at least.

Todeseng3l I went with the CL14 3600MHz 64Gb kit for my 5950x. As far as I could tell this is the only option at 3600MHz/CL14 to get guaranteed dual rank memory and 4 DIMMS, the latter of which is very important to Zen3 performance .
Are those dual-rank dimms? If so, you may want to consider 4 dimms of single-rank: https://www.techspot.com/...00-memory-performance/
