Just recieved my RMA replacement of a gtx570 SC HD (replaced a broken card same P/N).Installed it straight away and its DOA.I get artifacts on the boot/bios screens and windows. So after 2 weeks of the support/RMA process im still out of action and £20 lighter. The card itself looked brand new, still had protective plastic on the fan.
Im just about to put in yet another support ticket but thats going to take another couple of days, then theres RMA approval needed.I really did not expect this to be such a hassle.I can understand mistakes happen, but a month long process which costs me a significant percentage towards buying a brand new better card, i did not expect.
Is there anyway this process can be speeded up? And i really dont feel i should have to pay to ship this broken card back again.

To put in a support ticket i had to register this broken card, i was unsure what purchase date to put in as its an RMA, i just put todays date.
Im attaching some pictures of the artifacting

I would give EVGA a call. They will want to go through some trouble shooting with you before doing another RMA. I would push for them to do a cross-ship on the new RMA. That way you get the replacement faster and don't have to pay to return defective RMA card.

I just managed to put in a support ticket.Attaching any pictures in the accepted formats just gave me an error. So i just linked them to this thread instead.
Calling them for troubleshooting would cost more than shipping it back, theres no toll free number outside of the US that im aware of.Your talking about a phone call that would probably cost $40.The card is 100% broken, you cant even open NV control panel while its installed, and you cant change resolution or anything. It needs sending back and being replace, again.

what the Rep is saying is your PCI lane could be bad the power in bad etc,EVGA of course wants you back and running asap so they want to personally rule these possibilities out by working with you before sending it back .As units are tested before sent out and tested before being approved to be used as a RMA item they want to make sure before you are bothered anymore by this issue that it is not something on your end that can be fixed.Sending another card back to you would do no good if its really not the card .

Nope, theyre all fine i had to go through testing all that before the first RMA.Its a brand new PSU i bought trying to diagnose the first cards issue, the old PSU is still fine.PCIE lanes are fine im using them right now, and again were all tested the first time. This is exactly what im talking about, it takes a week before they stop pointing the finger at something else, but ive already been through that.

There's nothing wrong with anything else in the system, its working fine and has been tested thoroughly the first time.Ive still been using it just with an older backup GPU's for now.

EVGA obviously did not test this card before sending it out.The forums here have many posts of faulty RMA replacements that have been sent out.As i said before mistakes happen. It has a totally different issue than my first card which i had to RMA.Artifacting from the second i powered up, reseated it and switch PCI slots. Its broken anyone can see that.

FWIW for every post you have seen...ask yourself how many thousands to each one who did post a complaint bothered to post everything was fine? Ive had two i think since 2008 ,i never went on the forums to post everything was great and heap praise on the RMA dept or how well the new card worked. Its just human nature to not say anything when things work as expected . RMA's are always best done threw the Phone support IMO .Forums being the absolute last resort .Have you called any of the numbers i posted ? I do not know if the EU numbers are toll free ,but i do know the US is .

Free toll is only for US residents, so calling will be expensive, and i dont speak german.Thats my real issue, when replacing this card under warranty costs more than the card is worth.Or will end up costing half the price of a new better card, through no fault of my own.
US customers get much better support/options than EU, due to cheaper shipping and free toll numbers.

On the testing point, i spent an hour putting a system together from my many spares. Its an AMD system, my current is Intel, and gives the same artifacting issue. If i remove the card and put in a spare, everything is fine.

I posted on the forum as ive seen other posts where an EVGA tech support escalated the 2nd RMA due to a mistake made, and the customer receiving a faulty replacement. This speeded up the process.

One reason for this might be because the EU has ludicrous regulations that offer no incentive for a company to even operate within it's bounds....  Don't fret though just email one of the US reps and they will get you in contact with an EU rep who will expedite your RMA and pray that they don't have any 570s left because the 570 was not a good card...

Thanks for help.Yeah i know the 570's, especially super clocked, had a bad reputation.I had original card for over 2yrs and it never ran stable with the SC.I always ran it at a reference gtx570 clock speeds and it ran fine until a few weeks back.Im guessing the VRM finally gave out on it.

Just for the sake of anyone else who may experience this i'll keep updating with whats happening.

My case is being speeded through, all my tickets were answered very fast yesterday, and RMA was approved straight away.Im just waiting on UPS picking up the faulty card, which should be today. The EVGA Tech support arranged the shipping, i just had to call and arrange a collection.

Not the first person this has happened too, I sent in a 2.56GB GTX 570 in the past (My previous gaming card), the first RMA was dead on arrival, the second RMA works but has a really bad coil whine at load.

I just use it for a backup card now incase I have to RMA my GTX 770 in the future.

quickest way to contact them is over the phone, second quickest way is email, I don't think they use Skype no.

Well the 2nd RMA arrived, a GTX660 ti SC.Its also faulty, artifacting then crashing during testing or gameplay.During the testing i tried a lot of things, but the only way to stabilise the card was to set the GPU clock offset to -300MHz.Then it would at least complete a Furmark test, with a few artifacts.I tested it in two different systems, with exactly the same issue and -300MHz stabilised it.

Heres some pics, had to use my phone as i didnt want anything interfering with the tests.Same reason i set the fan to 80%, ruled out overheating, it hit a max of 66c.
So its once more into the frey, and another roll on the RMA lottery.

    These settings it passed

    These stock settings failed everytime

With the help of a friend i found the issue with the card. You can see in the pics that the power target is stuck at 130%, something that shouldnt be possible without altering the bios as far as i know.Precision doesnt allow anything over 123%.So after following a few suggestions finally managed to unstick it, and the card works normally.

Furmark bypasses the safety things that video cards have (such as the power target going beyond what it should), its is NOT a good way to do a stability test on a card, don't EVER use that program!

Use something like Unigine Heaven, Unigine Valley, or 3dmark Firestrike.

Well i spoke to soon, after fixing the initial issue, it ran for a couple days before dying.Same as the first card they sent me, artifacts on boot/windows, and isnt recognised properly just says VGA controller.Again tried the usual stuff, nothing helped.Everyone always says EVGA warranties/RMA is good, the support staff have been good i'll give them that, the crappy cards ive been sent were not.

Never had Furmark run a card at any other settings than what its set to run at.In fact it often throttles cards back.

Furmark was rendered useless as a test over 3 years ago....
This was DONE by Nvidia to prevent novice users from damaging their cards.
The Furmark .exe is detected by the Nvidia driver, as well as on board hardware detection, and the cards now cycle both power and clocks yo prevent damage.

    Use of Furmark...
-->is a sign of not being aware of the current state of hardware and software
*this lack of knowledge is extremely ill advised running a modern MB with third party software

Perhaps its time to post your -complete- and DETAILED specs for review
As well as posting what kinds of third party software you have installed and/or are using....

It's unclear what kind of performance you are expecting and what overclocking you are attempting.
You appear to have a nice CPU/MB/Monitor, but may have unrealistic performance expectations for the cards you are using.
And given your postings, are completely unaware of the -SERIOUS- possible software issues (MB, Third party) that can occur (and may be affecting your videocards)

First off wind that neck back in maniac.Im not overclocking any of the cards, thats my point if you read my posts. And to eliminate my main systems CPU overclock it was removed, even though it very a modest 4.5Ghz on a 3770k.None of the cards worked at default out of the box settings.I also built a second system from spares to test (again posted i did this you didn't read it), and both sytems have a vanilla windows installation, i have spare hard drives to.So other than the drivers there is no third party softwares, other than i had evga scanner and furmark, one system is AMD and one is Intel. Those were only used to make sure the cards passed a basic run.Only the gtx660ti they sent me did, after i fixed it being locked at 130% power target.Once it passed i never tested it again, ran it at stock. The card died two days later, the first card received never ran anything and was completely broken.I am also still using the systems fine with other video cards.I never wanted to or needed to overclock any video card.

I realise you dont like me saying negative things about EVGA, but i think that they are warranted after the service i have had.And i don't feel its warranted you attacking me in your post for no reason.Just because your obviously a big EVGA fan doesn't mean they aren't capable of bad service.

Only thing you can do is call evga or submit a support ticket. If it was me i would call and ask to speak with support manager. With it being 2nd RMA i would ask for free cross-shipping.

It is called customer fatigue. EVGA is well known to do this. I am an EVGA victim too. They sent me a power supply that died a few hours later after install. Then I ask for another replacement and they say they will ship new cables since the power supply was tested blah blah blah. They know you can't go too long without a power supply or a GPU, so they purposedly send you defective units so you give up, plain and simple. There are people with multiple replacements all defective. No coincidence...

Why on earth would you dig up a almost 10 year old thread just to bash EVGA. Seriously lol

    Dear Piticli,

Since your power supply works ok at EVGA, we can only assume that there is something else happening and that is why we offered you cables.  We called and emailed you, and we will be awaiting your response.
