Hey, so I got my RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra, so far so good, but I am curious what's the deal with GPU-z showing VRel and VOp?
I got 3 pci-e cables connected so 1 for each slot. But when I play a game or so, and I got GPU-z open it will show VRel and VOp as perf cap, is this normal?

AMD 5950x @4.7 GHZ 1.27 volt
Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Dark Hero
NZXT Kraken z73 360mm aio

The bios is reporting it is hitting voltage caps.  Normal with stock bios.

Yes it's normal.  Which BIOS are running, Normal, OC or the XOC version of which?  With the XOC OC BIOS, I am seeing VRel/VOp for the perfcap reason on GPUz in a lot of instances, I only see Pwr when I'm really pushing the OC.  But it's completely normal either way, you're either going to see VRel/VOp or Pwr, or all 3 (or Idle if you're not hitting a cap), as the reason, depending on your clocks, if you have the voltage slider maxed, or what not.

I would look in to Undervolting if I were you, these cards can run quite a bit cooler while still maintaining pretty high clocks with a bit of tuning.  I can run 2070MHz @ 994mV, which runs at SLIGHTLY lower temperatures than stock, and also uses less power/doesn't hit Voltage limit, or 1980MHz @ 875mV, which runs 6-10C cooler than stock, uses way less power (maxes out around 340W draw) and barely any noticable performance loss.

VRel/VOp is basically the card saying it's ran out of voltage headroom/doesn't have enough voltage to clock higher on the GPU core, not to be confused with having an "voltage" issues from the PSU or anything like that.  If you want to push as far as you can with that, you can max out the voltage slider, but keep in mind that's adding voltage, which adds heat & power draw.

Simply means you have either too little or too much voltage for your clock speed. Monitor what your actual voltage is at when you trigger VRel/VOp.  If it's maxed out at 1.093v and your clock speed is low, you can try lowering your voltage while leaving the clock speed where it is.  If you're maxed out at 1.093v and your clock speed is high, it means you probably don't have enough voltage to maintain those clocks, so lower your clock speeds a bit.  If your clock is high but your voltage isn't at 1.093v, you can try raising your voltage to see if it helps.  Basically you want to find as low of a voltage as possible to run as high of a clock speed as possible.

So for general overclocking, lock your voltage to a certain number (for example 0.900v) and keep increasing your clock speed by 15MHz from 1905MHz onward. Once you crash, you'll know the limit of how much clock you can pull from that voltage.  You can do the same thing with higher voltages.  For example try 1.000v and see how high up you can raise the clock speed.  Obviously you want to be running some game or benchmark app to test these voltages/clock speeds under full load for extended periods of time to account for heat accumulation and power leakage.  But that's the general idea:  Find the highest stable clock speed, with the least amount of voltage possible.

Need to spamtribute 100 posts for Elite status to be able to get a KingPin because Jacob. My apologies in advance.

i turned down clock speed and still getting VREL, VOP. I have a 750W ITX PSU gold. Idk i even tried turning off the LEDS on my GPU.

It happens when i turn my FANs on aggressive instead of regular/stealth.  Is there a work around for the 3080 FTW ULTRA?

I wouldn't worry about it as long as you're hitting >144fps

Again, this is NOT anything WRONG, it is NORMAL, as I said in my post from when I had a 3080 FTW3 Ultra:

You should be fine. Must be nice having a 3080.

Does anyone move the voltage slider or just stick to memory clock, gpu clock and power limit?

Hi i have an Asus X570-i  motherboard (ITX) and someone under you said there's OC bios? could you provide me with a link becuase i don't see any over clocking bois for my mobo on the strix website.
