Finally after my dead card sitting at evga for a week they have shipped out a replacement for my 3090 ftw3 ultra. It is supposed to get here Tuesday. Was hoping to be able to game this weekend because it was originally supposed to go out on Wednesday. They are blaming increased rmas from the week they took off at Christmas on the delay still.

Mine was shipped today as well, they must of gotten more of them in. Best of luck and hope I never have to talk to you again. Means are cards are working!

I'll be sticking around in the forums but I get what you mean! Hopefully the new cards are good!

If your card is more than 30 days old, chances are youre not getting a NEW card, but a refurbished card... 

good thing my first card lasted 2 weeks and the RMA card lasted 4 days haha! Contemplating if when they fix the cards they replace the voltage controller or if the new cards are manufactured with an updated voltage controller.

Hence, why I bought a 3070 FE, as a backup, currently using it, while the 2080 super is in the box waiting for my step 2 for a 3080. Hell, I even bought the 2 years extended warranty, just in case...

No man I'm not rich, but GT710 can't even run League of Legends and it is almost impossible to buy a display port version that support 4k Monitor

My first card died too while I was playing LoL.
RMA card is experiencing hard crashes too only when playing LoL...Black screen, fans ramp up to 100%, have to completely power down the computer with the PSU off to reset it.
What is going on????  Cyberpunk blasts the card up to 450 watts of power usage and I can play the game for 8+ hours, but LoL when only using 140 watt continuously hard crashes almost every 30 minutes....
Scared my RMA card is going to die as well.

Same, no problem with other heavy games.
Played CP (maxed 4k) for 80h, Call of Duty CW, The Witcher 3 etc... with no crashes at all.
LOL experiences me 2 crashes:
first time Black screen and I've been forced to reboot
second time..... black screen.... reboot.... RED Light....

Perhaps an issue with power state management on the cards firmware causing voltages to be too high somewhere at lower usage loads?

No problem when Power is set 99/100%
But I think the problem is when you use the card at 30% and suddenly power increase at 50/70% (Team fight etc). Fast Voltage changing seems to kill the 3090

I think it would have been any game that could have done it but different games can push graphics cards in different ways. I have ran into memory errors with a graphics card I had to RMA that only happened in a few games.

Older games can run at ridiculous frame rates, those frame rates can generate coil whine and other stuff but shouldn't brick the card outright.  Given all the FTW3 failures we're reading about here I'd guess there's an issue with power balance/distribution in the power delivery of the cards with 3xPCIE power.
 
Hopefully EVGA performs an RCA on all the dead cards and maybe they tweak/fix their design.  If you know the one thing that bricked your card is an older game, just apply a frame rate limiter when you get your replacement card, should help avoid it from reoccurring at least.

Fair enough. Four or Five hundreds FPS is rediculous, the fastest monitor only refresh at 360Hz. Those extra frames are not only waste but also hazard to your GPU.

It seems a good idea to block FPS but...
In League of Legends, I've never experienced more than 350/380 FPS (4K - Ultra setting) (No Coil whine), 3090 seems to stay always at 30% usage. There is no way to get more FPS increasing the GPU usage.

Its at 30% because you're CPU bound at that point, but even then, the high frame rates stresses a card differently.  No reason whatsoever to generate 350fps for LOL, and there's no 4k/360 display either.  If you want to be safe I'd set a frame rate limiter much lower, like if you had a 4k120 monitor just set it to 120.

CPU bound with a 3950X lol  (Afterburner never displays me more than 40% CPU usage in any game)
However when I'll get the RMA card I will sure set 120 Fps limit

Maybe that is why league of legends is killing my cards. I get like 600 FPS with a 240hz monitor. I’ll be capping the FPS at 240 this next go around.
