I am thinking about getting the classified board. I tried this GSkill memory last year, but never got a stable system at 2800: F3-2800C12D-16GTXDG. I was using an Asus Maximus 6 extreme at that time. Ended up being the CPU I believe. The 4770K Haswells sometimes don't like that degree of memory frequency. Along with the new 4790k and the EVGA Z97 Classified, is 2800 possible? Thanks.

I just purchased the Z97 Classified for my first ever build... I went with an EVGA because I am new to PC gaming and I was very surprised with all of the good things I heard about the customer/technical service they provide. Here is what I have so far for the build... Motherboard: EVGA Z97 Classified GPU: EVGA 780ti Classified CPU: Pre-order Intel 4790K (Devils Canyon) Power Supply: Zalman 750W 80Gold Samsung 256GB SSD (for OS), Western Digital 1TB VelociRaptor 10000RPM Hard Drive (for everything else) Cooling: Corsair H100i Ram: still undecided but looking at 16GB GSkill Sniper 1600mhz DDR3 Case: Corsair 750D Obsidian OS: Windows 8.1 Monitor: ACER B6 Ultrawide Logitech G Series Peripherals I chose these because I would like to dabble in Overclocking when I can better understand it. Any suggestions or advice on what I have so far would be greatly appreciated! Anybody have any recommendations on the RAM I should choose? I see the Z97 will take 32GB of 2666mhz DDR3... Is it worth shelling out the extra cash for this? Keep in mind that in the future I would like to upgrade the Power Supply and add another EVGA Classified 780ti. Thanks!

OK, just downloaded the manual for the Classified board, but it says (Part 2) on the first page. Where's part 1? Thanks.

I was interested in the Z97 Stinger but the lack of bluetooth is a major example of dropping the ball by EVGA engineers.

I'm an old asus motherboard fan. First time ever purchased EVGA motherboard Arrived my Z97 classified and installed it. Error code 55 came up. CPU 4790K with Corsair H55 cooler EVGA Z97 classified Corsair Dominator Platinum 8Gb x 2 2166Mhz EVGA 780ti SLI Samsung 840 SSD 512Gb Enermax Platimax 1350w Took it to a local computer shop and tested with different CPU and Memory nothing happened. Also advised to a technician about code 55 issue. Checked if there was bented pin on CPU socket. negative. Tried with different PSU. negative. CMOS reset and removed cell battery waited 10 min. negative. and of course tested without any VGA card nor usb cables. Final answer was defective motherboard. Should I return a mobo and buy a same one or buy different brand? any suggestions?

I think it's random problem, EVGA improve lot last two series, maybe is best to try RMA. But did you check memory compatibility list for EVGA Z97 Classified. Your post code 55 could point at memory... http://www.evga.com/support/motherboard/ Do you have maybe some other 4GB memory 1600-1800MHz just in case to try. If you had luck to enter in BIOS set first on 1600MHz memory, not XMP or similar thing. You bought 2666MHz?

Does Z87 FTW (141-HW-E877-KR) & Z97 FTW (142-HR-E977-KR) support Xeon LGA1150 CPU? Two LGA 1150 Haswell&R Xeons I am interested are E3-1230v3 & E3-1231v3. I checked the CPU compatibility list, there are very limited CPU listed. TIA.

Maybe for old motherboards, X58 Classified is really nice, but for last 3-4 years EVGA Z87/Z97 Classified are best. Z87 Classified have little nicer vertical lines on heatsink but that is almost not visible and Z97 Classified with new color look perfect. If you look pictures over net you will see how nice look inside case. I think Z87/Z97 Classified are maybe nicest motherboards ever made.
