A 3DMark database submission sees the processor score 10,719 points in the CPU tests, with an overall score of 9,862 points, when paired with a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card.  The CPU score is about 2,500 points higher than the 6-core/12-thread Core i7-8700K, and about 1,500 points higher than the 8-core/16-thread AMD Ryzen 7 2700X. Very good numbers overall in my opinion but that is also provided that the price isn't too high. If this is indeed released on 1 August we'll know the price soon enough. Maybe this also might be a reason for AMD to release a Ryzen 7 2800X processor as the rumor mill says AMD held back the 2800X to see what Intel would do.

    I'm so excited about i9-9900K, I can't explain.
Imagine 5.0GHz for all cores, I would be so happy with such performance.
What's new on Z390 Chipset except, compare to Z370?
    Probably nothing special.

If I was upgrading, that's probably the CPU I would want.

    Imagine 5.0GHz for all cores...
Stock has 5GHz on two cores, all-core Turbo boosts to 4.7GHz. One could conclude that Turbo gives us an indication of what Max speed all cores could reach, so you could overclock it to 5GHz all core since its just 300MHz.

But honestly, it's pathetic; overclocking used to be about raising the clock 1-2GHz above stock, now we have people jumping for joy over a few hundred megahertz.

What Intel is doing isn't an achievement versus overclocking it themselves and charging extra for it. I remember making a post here years ago when Sandy Bridge debuted whether anyone would pay for Intel to do it for them or not.

For Intel processors, 0.122 x TDP = Continuous Amps at 12v [source].

Yeah this is nothing to be impressed by.  I mean here's it compared to an i7 7700k.  The 7700k lost by a mere 10 points.  You're all suckers if you think this chip is awesome.

Eh, it shows the i9-9900K getting a 66% higher cpu score. That's with the 9900K at 5.0GHz and the 7700K at 5.2GKz, the 9900k is like having 2+ 7700K CPU's in your system. Also the GTX 1080 Ti in the 7700K system was overclocked and the GTX 1080 Ti in the 9900K system was at stock speed.

But in overall game play, which everyone has argued about before, the processor LOST.  If I use the same argument that everyone has used against Ryzen, this i9 is useless because the quad core i7 destroyed it where it counts, in gaming.  Now, see how stupid that argument sounds??

I guess the sarcasm in my previous post was lost and I should have used the /s tag to make it more obvious ha.

How does the 9900K lose in game play?

Yes you should have used the /s as your post shows zero sarcasm. It showed you were trying hard to make the 9900K look bad, but failed miserably.

Haters aside, if the 9900k is priced decent (sub 500) and performs where we expect it to be... My 2500k, will finally see retirement. It's been years in the making, but it's time. If the price isn't right, or performance a bit off for the price, I might be going the way many others have been lately, and head back to AMD for the first time in what seems like 15+ years lol.
