Note: I'm only posting this here because of PM restrictions that are currently in effect. I'm hoping for someone from tech to help me out here.

Okay, so I recently purchased my GTX 1070 ti through EVGA because I heard of your wonderful step-up program, and that in general it was trustworthy. Well, I'm feeling pretty frustrated with my experience so far.
I was under the assumption that making my own account and purchasing through the official website would mean that my product was registered and I'd be able to check back in once in a while for 90 days to see if I was interested in a step-up. Come to find out, my product wasn't registered. I figure that's okay I'll get home and do that. Registration complete, but not within that window of 14 days which I was unaware of. Now, the product I bought through EVGA's official site isn't eligible for the step-up even though I am absolutely within my 90 day window. I really hope there is something that can be done about this besides forking out more money for the extended warranty, just to turn around pay more when I want to step-up.

EVGA does not register products to an account at the time of purchase because people give the components away as gifts occasionally. It is always the users responsibility to register their product when it comes from most companies.

Purchase the extended warranty for your card. Make sure to read through all of the stepup faq page below. The extended warranty will transfer to the step up card.

    https://www.evga.com/support/stepup/

If you should happen to miss your 14 day registration window on your qualifying 3 Year Warranty product then you may also purchase an extended warranty within 90 days of your original purchase date to enable the Step-Up option.

    Hello There AHowes,

Unfortunately, the store terms at EVGA's online store is a 14 day return policy. For more information on our store terms and conditions, you can find it linked HERE

Oh ok so I guess evga must of changed the return period from 30 to 14 days then..

If that's so then I guess I'll need to stop telling people if they need to rma a new card within 30 days they would get a new card in return. Now I guess within 14 days.. after that you'll most likely receive a refurbish card.

    Hello AHowes,

Through our warranty terms and conditions, replacements within the first 30 days would be new replacements.

    • If an RMA is necessary within 30 days of the original purchase date of a new in box Product, a new in box OEM replacement will be sent to the Original Purchaser in return, subject to availability.

    Terms found HERE

    RMA’s are different than returns.

Thomas ghosted me while i tried to get the answer lol.

    Alrighty then..

I doubt I ever registered any of my cards within the first 14 days do to testing the normal testing period. So I doubt I have 3 year warranties on my ftw3 elite bought at microcenter nor the ftw3 hybrid bought from the evga store.

Pretty shocking really. On microcenters site for the product description is shows 3 year warranty.. but should state "if you register within 14 days". So good luck if I have a problem in the next year with that card.

Just checked them and yup..I waited till after the 30 day return period before I registered the cards.. as usual. So I dont have warranty for either correct?

Ftw3 elite bought back on 10/26/2017
    Ftw3 hybrid bought on 1/23/2018

So if I missed the 14 day registration period I get what for warranty.. guess I'll go read.

Edit: scratch all that.. getting the step up program confused with the warranty.

    Hello AHowes,

I think we're speaking on two different policies here. The warranty is a Standard Global Warranty, you should have 3 years regardless. The prior post was in response to the terms of the eligibility of the Step Up Program and not warranty. Warranty terms are linked HERE

    Regards,
    Thomas N.

Edit: Let me rephrase that, the 3 year warranties are available on products Suffixes: -A1, -A2, -A3, -A4, -AR, -AX, -CR, -CX, -DX, -FR, -FX, -SG, -SX, -KR, -K1, -K2, -K3, -K4, -K5, -KB, -KA, -KF, -KM.
