Ok I just upped my OC a bit to 3.3ghz.. The ram frequency I adjusted and set to 1280 mhz so I do not exceed the 1333mhz ram i have in my system. I do not want to burn out my ram. Problem here is I noticed a decrease in 3dmark vantage. The PC score went up but the GPU score went down? And no I have yet to overclock my card and don't know if I am going to..

Went down by how much? It's not uncommon to get different reults back to back One small tip. Go into your nvidia control panel, manage 3D settings,Then click on program settings tab, find 3D 11, then set "power management mode" setting to Prefer Maximum Performance, instead of Adaptive. Then your video card won't need to throttle up on each test. Gets full speed from the start.

Plus, you won't "burn out" your ram by going over it's rated specs. All ram is 1066, they just give the ones that can go higher a different speed rating. "MOST" ram can take a slight overclock without any problems at all. What i'm trying to say is that even 2000 mhz. ram is actually 1066 that happens to have good chips in it. Just one more thing you can try later.

my ram is rated at 1333mhz and I got it overclocked to like 1628mhz, and there not even hot:D one problem I had though is when I let my bios set my ram's voltage manually it would set it to 1.7 instead of 1.5 volts, so after awhile I was wondering why my ram was so hot to the touch turns out it was the voltage problem:D

A couple hundred points is pretty normal variation, test to test.

A word of warning though. Overclocking is worse than heroin! Are you addicted yet? LOL

No I am not addicted to OCn yet but I am addicted to taking apart and putting my rig back together for some reason... As for my scores it is a 100 point difference..=/ Was at 3.2 http://3dmark.com/3dmv/3859011 At 3.3 http://3dmark.com/3dmv/3859563 I did what you suggested about the nvidia control panel thing.. How do you monitor your ram tempatures?

I currently have my ram voltage set to manual at the default 1.50volts.. Also I have my CPU volts set to 1.30volts how ever it still drops here and there by like .004?

Ahh, I see something! In your Vantage options you have PPU (physx) disabled. It does that by default. Enable it and watch your score go up! It will always default to disable, so you need to do it every time you make a run. Just allow physx to auto select in nvidia control panel, DON'T let it go to your CPU. Have you tried raising your ram speed yet? Just remember to only make one change at a time, or you become lost. Make a Vantage run with Physx enabled, and you will SMILE!

In Nvidia control panel I currently have PhsyX set to Auto-Select. So I am assuming you want me to make it default to my 560? Also I am thinking of trying to add a dedicated phsyx card to my rig but it would make no difference in BF3.. Only problem is the cards I have available are mainly a BFG 7800GT OC, possibly a 8800 GTSC, and doubtful but possibly a GTX460 SE. As for the 460 I do not think i have enough power to power it with only 500 watts. It is also my dads extra vid card so he might not let me use it.. And no I have not tried to overclock my memory yet. Keeping it at 1280mhz at the moment. I want to try and reach my CPU goal for 3.4ghz which seems very possible now.

Well looks like I can not Overclock my memory. I am sure having two different sets in there doesn't help but in order to play bf3 I need to have more then 4gig. I currently have Corsair DDR3 1333Mhz and Ultra DDR3 1600Mhz in there. I tried to go pased 1280Mhz and the overclock failed.. On a plus not I am currently sitting at 3.443Ghz and pushed the voltage up to 1.35..

Yeah I am it is the only option I have available to me in order to play bf3 with out crashing out due to not having enough memory. For some reason I have been hitting 3.96GB of memory when having ONLY bf3 playing.. So I added the 2nd gig of ram to help with that. My motherboard or bios or w.e adjusted all the timing to it automatically so it works.. It seems to work fine as well with everything so far except for overclocking the ram..

Cameron1234 Thats going to be a limiting factor on overclocking Yah i understand that. But I have no other option available to me right now unless if someone wants to either donate me a 2gig stick of ddr3 1600mhz ram or 2x2g sticks of ddr3 1333mhz ram.. I know BF3 is only suppose to use like 3.50gig of ram roughly but recently I have noticed that my ram has been jumping passed 3.5 regularly. And when it gets to that 3.9 marker it seems to crash my game.. Not sure what I am doign wrong.. I am only running Origin, PC Probe, Task Manager, Evga Precision, Ventrilo or teamspeak(sometimes neither), and IE for battlelog. I just switched over to chrome because I understand it uses less resources and memory.. Not sure what I can do.. No extra memory around.. I need quite a few upgrades.. =/

Cameron1234 See if you can free up some memory:D When running BF3 I am not using ANYTHING but bf3 really that uses much memory. Everything else is like 20k here 20k there and only a few programs run at 20k... I just need another legit stick of memory.

Cameron1234 all's I can say is gett more somehow Trust me if I could I would. I have no money to spend atm due to my recovering from surgery so I am stuck with dealing with whats around the house. Atm I think my pc in the house is the only one that uses DDR3. All the others use I think DDR2.

I have yet to run any benches yet but I am glad to report that I have increased my CPU from 2.9Ghz to 3.5Ghz.. I also adjusted my CPU voltage to 1.35. Hopefully this will improve my 3dmark benchmarks.
