Hi Guys,
My 2 month old 1080TI started failing and I paid around 900 Euros for an advanced RMA to prevent me having to be without my computer for more than a few days. 2 Weeks later and after paying all this money, I still haven't received anything or heard from EVGA. The website just says pending for the cross ship

I bought EVGA because of their good reputation for quick RMAs and the fact they have a UK base. I can't believe a good company like EVGA hasn't got any 1080ti cards left for RMAs.

Is anyone else having similar problems? This is getting beyond a joke.

Read through the warranty section and all of the internet. There is a shortage of GPU’s, so many people are waiting. Even replacements have a shortage, due to the overall lack of GPU’s.

I'm aware miners are buying up all available stock all over the place, but I thought companies held stock back for RMAs?

They do in most cases. But even then they can have shortages if too many people all need RMA's at the same time. When I worked at a call center for a memory company we had a few times when we had no stock for replacement products and customers had to wait. I have seen a post on Reddit where another company offered a customer ~$230 for a 980ti they RMA'ed because they had no stock. It's a really bad  time to have to RMA GPUs right now.

They do hold stock, until people become wise and Advance RMA their “BAD” gpu, then just keep both and absorb the costs so they can get a second card. Then the stock depletes and no one gets a card. It’s not just miners, there are gamers and scalpers buying every card they can just to resell them for massive profit.

Contact evga management about the poor customer service your receiving from it's EU region.

Fair enough, they shouldn't be taking huge sums of money for a replacement card if they have nothing available to send. I can easily find available EVGA 1080Ti SC2 cards available locally for normal prices, so there is availability. Going down the EVGA advanced RMA route, I'm 1800 euros out of pocket within 2 months, and have one broken card and non existent one.

EVGA haven't even bothered to send an email to explain the issue or offer the cash I advanced back & 3 phone calls to customer service haven't yet gained me a response. I'm not so impressed with this customer service.

Hello, I am sorry to hear about the long delay on this RMA.
I will contact the EU team on your behalf to see what can be done to get that replacement unit sent to you.

Hey mate, what is the specific model of your card and how much did you pay for it when you bought it ?
I'm in the middle of an advanced rma myself (waiting for approval) so i have no clue how much they will charge me for the collateral.
Hopefully it will not cost me that much since i have a founders edition :/

    Hi,

I bought a 1080ti SC2 gaming edition card in November for around £740. The collateral to get an advance RMA was somewhere around 900 euros and came to £793.09 on my Paypal.

My big fear is having to pay interest on that as it's on my credit card and I can't see EVGA sending me a card out anytime soon. If I haven't heard anything from EVGA soon I might have to contact Paypal to try and get my money back.

Just think if EVGA would handle standard Cross-ship RMA like they do advanced RMA (no full collateral payment required), minus shipping. You wouldn't be looking at an interest payment on that collateral.

It would be better if they didn't insist on being paid up front via Paypal, especially when they have no product to ship. My last advanced RMA was with Western Digital, who lock the collateral payment on your credit card without actually taking any money, why can't EVGA do this?

No reason at all why evga couldn't just put $1 hold on  a credit card for all cross-ship RMA, not just advanced RMA's. Only reason they don't, it's an easy way for them to get paid $30.

You're welcome. I hope you have better luck than me with your RMA, as I'm still without a working card and losing hope of anything happening soon. If this is the best customer service in the business then we're looking at a pretty low bar.

From what the support told me they were doing a big inventory and some system changes so since they couldn't ship anything they didn't approve any rma either.
Just got mine approuved but i have a founders edition, for the custom models since there might be even less stocks you might have to wait longer.
Hope this solves out quickly, those damn cryptominers mate... :/

Several people actually, i send about 30 emails in 10days so i got different people

this thread is worrying me a bit though, i thought the all point of having to wait for approval for the advanced rma was to wait for a gpu to be available to be shipped right away as soon as the collateral is paid.

Just a bit of an update. I eventually received my replacement 1080ti SC2 after about 3 weeks from beginning the advanced RMA.

Unfortunately this card was also faulty. I presume it was someone else's broken card that EVGA had tried to fix.  It wasn't able to run Heaven Benchmark or Valleys Benchmark for more than 10 minutes without a crash to desktop. At this point I was sure the card was not to blame, so I bought a new EVGA 1000W GQ PSU & this made no difference. Next I built a new system, based on a I7 8700K, Asus Prime A Z370 motherboard and Corsair DDR 4 RAM. Again the card proved itself not be stable. Countless reinstalls of Windows and different driver combinations make no difference.

So now I'm waiting for the 1st RMA to finish so I can start the 2nd RMA. The system is now running stable but with only with Intel on-board graphics.

Sadly, It's very likely that by the time a working card is found for me, it'll be obsolete!

    Hi Guys,

It's only fair to EVGA that I give an update here.

My 3rd 1080ti is working like a charm. I'm annoyed at having had to replace half my rig trying to prove the GPU and its replacement were both faulty, but at least EVGA have at least been helpful and civil throughout. I've not had to pay for postage to Hong Kong or Europe as the UK base has made things much cheaper.

All the EVGA staff I've spoken to (mainly in Munich) have really worked hard to resolve this and I can't imagine buying my next GPU card from anyone else.

    Thanks Guys!
