I just received my new GTX 680 in the mail! I went to install it and it wont work. I went to check the warranty and it has a weird part number I cannot find anywhere. Most of these cards end in BR or KR but this card ends in B1. I have never seen that before. The full part number is 02G-P4-2683-B1. The card loads into windows fine, but when the driver installs the screen looks a little weird and there are little red artifacts everywhere that move around when I move the mouse, when I check device drivers I see Code 43 device cannot start.

windows 8
 
I have another Asus Gtx 680 I was hoping to SLI this with and that card functions in windows 8 perfectly and benchmarks fine.
This thing is brand freakin new! Not sure where to go from here

 
Was that card won as a prize? Is it an OEM card?

 
Where did you buy it?

im going to try it on my EVGA z77 FTW and see what happens. It has 4 stickers on the back like most cards Ive seen on google images, except mine has A CIN number?

 
BTW, if you don't mind me asking. What did you pay for that card?
 
Also, go to the following link: http://www.evga.com/support/guestregister.asp  enter the information, and see if it's under warranty. If not, I hope you could get your money back.
 

 
It shows you pictures of where the numbers are. At this point, maybe you should talk to an Evga customer service rep to find out. Have you tried the card in another computer to see if it's the card that is faulty?

It's weird, not like this is my first evga card either, I hold world records with 480 super clocked and gtx 670, this is the first evga card I've ever had problems with

The first configuration I tried was alone on the Asus 990fx sabertooth. i pulled my wifes gtx 560 and installed this one, it booted into windows fine, and windows discovered a new device and installed the driver, apon reset the screen in windows had red artifacts and in device manager it had a code 43. i tried reseating the card several times with no luck .I pulled the card and tried it alone on the z77 FTW on an open bench (board was new in box). As long as no drivers were installed it worked perfectly and looked great. I installed windows 7 to a corsair force SSD and it went successfully. I then installed the latest nvidia drivers via a USB drive. The computer reset and windows began to load, after the swirling windows logo the screen went black then the board produced a couple beeps and reset. I allowed this to happen a few times before I gave up. I then installed my other gtx 680 on the board and it booted into windows correctly and I was able to finish driver install and run a 3dmark 11 correctly. I decided to try the card in a secondary slot with SLI cable. It installed correctly and reported the system was SLI capable. I enabled SLI and a few seconds later the driver crashed and recovered, it did this a few times and then the display went black. I pulled the card and gave up
