I have no idea what I am doing wrong, I figured it would be as simple as popping in the 2nd card and hitting go. Here is my setup: i7 4770k Gigabyte z97x-soc force 2x EVGA GTX 780 3GB (both cards 8x PCIe, 110% confirmed) 3x Asus 24" 144hz w/ DUAL LINK DVIs W7 SP1 PRO x64 Drivers: latest official, and latest beta - no difference. Before I had no issues with a single card and surround, 2x DVI and 1x DP. I added the 2nd card and SLI works perfectly fine with 1 monitor, however when I try to select 'Span displays with surround' - it says SLI disabled and won't allow me to activate surround. Any ideas...kinda really unhappy after spending the whole evening trying to figure out why this isn't working - not to mention the money lol.

Start by setting your refresh rate down to the standard 60Hz for the purpose of testing, try physically switching the cards around on your motherboard, test with a different SLI bridge all together. This might even by a firmware conflict between both cards. I would also recommend performing a clean installation of the drivers BUT without the extras such as PhysX, Geforce X, HD Audio, and Stereoscopic 3D. Hope this helps.

I seem to recall something about trying to run SLI surround with 144hz monitors. Have you tried setting the monitors to 60hz in the control panel just for testing. You have the displays connected correctly using the DVI connectors according to the screen cap of the control panel.

Ok this may insult you in some way but I always like to check simple things first - have you linked both cards with SLI connection? Also have you tried another SLI cable? I had that issue with my 660's two years ago where one of the cables was faulty and was unable to span with surround (cards were not in SLI and one connection was not responding due to that)

I'll try these today after I get off work. Someone directed me to this thread: (nvm I cant get the link to post) - when z87 and Haswell hit some users were having trouble with a driver bug - nvidia investigated and fixed it. I'm not saying that is my problem but it sounds pretty similar. I've got a bunch of fixes to test from 3 different forums now lol. No insult taken, basics are always good. Yes the SLI bridge is installed, I tried both ports/connectors. I'm trying to locate another SLI bridge right now, I'm sure I've got one somewhere. outhouse Both cards in #1 and #2 slots? had that happen to me and I was directed here to move cards from #1 and #3 and then it showed up.
Currently 1 & 3. I'll give 1 & 2 a try but I think there is going to be a clearance issue.

Hmm, alright - I'll give that a go first thing when I get home. I cant remember why I went with the 3rd port, I was worried somehow the 2nd would be a 4x port instead of 8x??

the cards should be in pcie slots 1(16x) and 3(8x). make sure your cards can run in sli , try a benchmark with sli off and on . turn sli off , then try right clicking your desktop , click screen resolution , click on darkened displays (the ones with black backgrounds) , below then click in the multiple displays tab : extend desktop to this display on both. at this point you should have your desktop across all 3 monitors ( you might have to shuffle them around so they line up correct). did they all display your desktop ?

Alright, here is a list of everything I have tried this evening. To make everything as clean as possible I started with a clean load of the OS (W7 PRO x64), most updated available chipset drivers, latest WHQL driver from Nvidia's site. To clairify everything - I have been using PCIe slots 1x & 3x, which yield 16x and 8x with 2 cards plugged in. I am able to enable SLI without a single issue, and benchmark scores reflect this - as well as in game experiences - however it is only with 1 monitor on. If I attempt to choose 'span displays with surround' - I can enable surround however SLI remains disabled - verified by GPUz. I have to have all 3 monitors connected to the top card, 2x DVI & 1x DP for surround to work. If I attempt to plug in the monitors to the bottom card - I am completely unable to enable surround - as it complains I do not have 3 monitors plugged into the top card. It's as if it does not see the bottom card? During this time it states 'SLI disabled'. I have attempted the following from this JPG - all of which require I use the 2nd card for at least one monitor - all of which do not work. I tested Option 1, 3 & 5 - as I do not plan to use HDMI. Each time I adjust the configuration it gives this exact same message: "Connect a display to this gpu" and shows only the 1 like in my first post :/ I have tried enabling SLI then doing the 'span with surround' - SLI option did not stick. If I select 'activiate all displays' - all 3 monitors come up reguardless of how they are plugged into the cards however SLI remains disabled. If I enable SLI I am only able to activiate the monitors connected to the top card, all 3 - I can enable surround however it shows as SLI disabled. EVGATech_JoseR Start by setting your refresh rate down to the standard 60Hz for the purpose of testing, try physically switching the cards around on your motherboard, test with a different SLI bridge all together. This might even by a firmware conflict between both cards. I would also recommend performing a clean installation of the drivers BUT without the extras such as PhysX, Geforce X, HD Audio, and Stereoscopic 3D. Hope this helps.
Per your specific requests, 60hz did not help in the situation. During surround enabled and before. Using PCIe slots 1 & 2 - according to my motherboard are 16x & 4x slots respectivly - yielded in SLI not being an option period due to the minimum 8x restriction. It was suggested that using slots 1 & 3 was causing my trouble - however according to my motherboard manual & slot markings - 1 & 3 are the only true 16/8x slots - as confirmed by the screenshots I did the driver install ( as well as a clean load of the OS) as you recommended, I used the offical and beta drivers from Nvidias site. Still no go :(

What? Prior to 320.18? You should be downloading drivers prior to 337.50 all the way down to 320.18.

I use 3 DVI-D cables for my 3 Asus 27" 144 hz monitors. When I enable surround it doesn't say SLi surround. Nor do you enable Surround then SLi. One or the other. So long as you are using the appropriate outputs, and the SLi Bridge on, it will use SLi surround, when you enable surround. I use the 2 DVI-D outputs on the top card, and one DVI-D from bottom card. Then when you enable surround it will be using SLi. Make sure you are using DVI-D cables for 120 or 144hz, the display port requires a power adapter to use 120 or 144hz. I imagine you are if you are using the ones that came with the monitors. Either DVI-D on the bottom can be used in conjunction with the first card using the 2 available. Once you have surround enabled using that config, check if SLi is working by checking the gpu useage on both cards while in game with either evga precision or msi afterburner. So long as you see useage on both cards then SLi surround is enabled. Hope this helps. :)

From what I can tell you are using the Display Port output, which if you are using the 2 DVI out puts on the top card, you cannot use a Display Port adapter on the second card. Only way to enable SLi Surround is using 2 outputs on top card, an 1 from bottom. Look at your post above an you will see that the config for outputs, that config is not useable in SLi surround. If you have another DVI wire, even if it is reg one an not a DVI-D, it will enable surround, it just wont be more then 60hz. Basically you just need another DVI-D cable hooked to the monitor you are using an to the second card DVI output, leave the display port cable out of the equation an it will work. Trust me. :)

I do happen to have a dual link DVI cable to test that with. Here are the results...it's complaining that I don't have 3 monitors hooked up to the top card, but as you can clearly see I do have 3 monitors hooked up 2 DVI top, 2 DVI bottom. http://i.imgur.com/B27DMJI.png

Notice it doesn't even show the 2nd card in the option to enable surround, it should be showing 2 cards there. I know it shows in the NVCP, but it doesn't on the enable/apply changes screen. Odd that it will allow sli, but not surround with one connected to the other card. Now are you trying to enable with SLi off before hand, or are you enabling SLi then trying to enable surround. Cause SLi will only allow connection to one card, then SLi surround will only work with one of the monitors hooked to the other card. I wonder if one of the displays has a polarity issue. To test, can you select Activate all displays? If you can, once they are enabled, go to the resolution area, select each monitor an create a custom resolution. Make them all default 1920x1080, the same polarity, +/+, -/+, whatever it shows for the default, it will allow you to test before confirming the change. Once all 3 are changed, and match, then try enabling with all using DVI-D to those outputs we were trying. It really shouldn't need to change more then one of them, the one hooked to the 2nd card. I'm just saying to change all three to rule out. I would have to find a link to this where I discovered it when I had an issue with polarity sync when I was using 3 matching lcd tv's one time an one of them was different polarity an would not show up as yours is. I understand your monitors are all the same, but even from the same batch they can be different polarity from one to the next.

I had similar issue i spend almost all day fighting to enable SLI. Did almost everything found on net: mobo bios update, changing bridge, updates, drivers etc etc. Finally noticed in GPU-Z that my second cars is x4 instead x8! That leads me into conclusion theres sth wrong with PCI ports, and...i found WIFI card in last one ;) My mobo doesn't like it at all, need to take it out, reboot and Nvidia SLI start work like a charm. If any case, HyperSLI can be used to enforce SLI.

I can't say if my forum posts got through or not - or someone in the right spot heard my whining but it's fixed with 337.88 - oddly 337.81 beta did not fix it.

Glad things have worked out for you. I have noticed that drivers and surround have been a hit or miss with me as well.
