As usual, if you are running fine with your current drivers, don't upgrade.

This drivers are a necessity though for anyone that uses VR with a 3000 series card.

I received 3070 FTW3 yesterday as a replacement for my old GTX 1080 in a new rig built last week.
Am a simracer and use VR (oculus rift cv1) for racing. All was working fine in new rig with gtx 1080 , driver version 461.09 including oculus VR.

Yesterday replaced the 1080 with the 3070 and ever since the oculus kept dying on me. It works for a few seconds and then goes black. Tried all kind of stuff (clean driver installs both nvidia/oculus, switching usb ports, checking power options etc etc). nothing worked and was getting more and more frustrated as I really only race using VR.
So glad I found this thread, the hotfix version resolved the oculus issues for me.
To bad that Nvidia every now and again manages to completely break VR.  Should I run into issues with this HotFix version and VR are there older driver versions available that were doing okay with VR in combination with rtx 30xx cards?

Hmm  I spoke to soon, the same issues also started occuring with HotFix driver 33. Oculus still unusable.

"Current" is the driver that every user has found to be stable for them. Im stable with 457.38 and not moving. For someone else "current" could be another driver. My point is, unless your drivers give you problems, upgrading may create problems where they dont exist if you simply upgrade blindly.

I'm glad you found one that is stable for you, but in my experience the best of the drivers released for the 3000 series (which for me at least is 457.51) are just "less broken" than the others, and from what I've read, this mirrors most people's experience.

Went to install this yesterday and it completely screwed up my system, my KingPin wouldnt go over 255MHz!  I had to DDU, uninstall PX1, and then reinstall drivers and PX1.  That was an hour adventure.  I really got excited because of the AC Valhalla fixes, I guess I will have to wait for that in the non-hotfix release.

Nothing changed regarding Valhalla as it still crashes for me (and many others in Ubi forums) even with this hotfix.

Well that makes me feel better.  I get maybe one crash per 5-10 hours...  Only happened once during something important.  I had way more trouble with Medusa in AC Odyssey crashing like mad.

X4 still having the Device Detached Crash that always been having.

But to be fair I also have not updated by Firmware for my Ftw3 ultra since like October.
So I just did that.. See what happenes.   Problem with this crash for x4.  Is that I can play for hours and never have an issue.. But than I can have 2-3 beat me down to submission within just an hour.  Its really annoying.  They did fix the Hud issue that is listed though.. So thats good..

    Hey guys,
Did the random "thermal throttling" overtemp bug get fixed on this driver?
You know what one I'm talking about.  The 6500C temp blip (or 120C blip, whatever) that you can see on eVGA cards, but on other cards just appears as a Therm throttle "yes" flag.

Try to manually delete the cache folders GrShaderCache and ShaderCache from %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data
Also GPUCache and Cache folders from %userprofile%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default

After deleting them they will automatically be re-generated after you start chrome.

This fixed a very similar issue for me as the one you're experiencing.

Yeah I noticed a lot of variation from one driver to the next with my 2080 Ti.  They would fix an issue with Pascal cards and I would magically notice stability issues in those same games with my 2080 Ti.

Did you get a few seconds black screen and/or a "Display driver stopped responding" log in event viewer when it hung?

It looks like NVIDIA pulled this driver.  I know one of the things it was supposed to fix in Adobe Premier Pro wasn't fixed... or still isn't working anyway.

I went to update another OS install and found it's missing.

I did find a direct download link to it on their forums and the one in the sticky still works.  Earlier this week it was showing up when you did a driver search, but no longer.    Odd

Forcing VSYNC in NVCP is temp solution or disable HA in Chrome/Edge. I also recorded video and posted on nvidia forum. This is a driver bug. Also Microsoft office apps flicker when scrolling in word/excel/ppoint.

Chrome flickering/screen tearing when scrolling webpages still not fixed. Still waiting for fix. Bug introduced in 461.09

Try vivaldi, it's chrome based without most of the problems google creates.

This is not a Chrome issue, but rather an Nvidia driver issue. Had the same thing happen with my 1080Ti on 460.89 before I upgraded to a 3070.

The driver team has dropped the ball ever since the launch of the 3070. It's strange that drivers were rock solid for years and then suddenly have issues several releases in a row with little to no solution except for rolling back to older drivers. AMD gets flack for having bad drivers in the past, but I'm kind of surprised Nvidia is getting away with these driver releases with little noise from the internet.

It looks like NVIDIA pulled this driver.  I know one of the things it was supposed to fix in Adobe Premier Pro wasn't fixed... or still isn't working anyway.

I went to update another OS install and found it's missing.

I was noticing that myself. I have been kind of waiting for it to show up in geforce experience as a new driver. Still it fixes the camera issue I have been having so that helps but not putting it on my other computer just yet.
