I just bought: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130932 to replace my EVGA GTX 560ti which I will be passing to my wife. Question is regarding stock thermal paste. I repasted my 560ti and saw temps drop a few. Has EVGA upped there paste on the cards these days or is it still general practice to do it automatically?

Well if you decide to reapply the TIM that is OK so long as you don't physically damage the card.

Right, but it still a generally acceptable practice that is practiced by a majority of the community?

Don't know if a majority of the forum members do it but many of the members do it.

I know a lot of people here replace the TIM as soon as they get it. I do it since it only takes a few minutes and the TIM from factory is normally terribly applied.

I pulled the coolers off of both of my 780s, turned them over and found TIM smothered on there...  Probably won't hurt to replace it automatically, but why not check it for about an hour and see what you get and determine if it is worth it right away?

P.S. With 2x760s SLI with stock TIM in an ATX mid case, the top runs at 64 during heavy benching and the bottom runs around 55.  All fans on, 5 case and of course the ACX fans, running at 100% and ambient around 18c or lower if possible.

Once I get a new SSD and Ram in, as well as MX4, I will test them as a before and after with stock TIM and the changed.
