My computer started randomly shutting itself down and I found that my GPU was hitting 80+C. The fans are not spinning. They spin for maybe 1 second weakly then stop. This happens over and over. I uninstalled Precision and Nvidia drivers and reinstalled and it looks like the problem hasn't been fixed. Any suggestions?

DO you have another machine to check this out on ? I am not sure how the fans get power (if it is by aux pci e power or from the bus), so maybe you are not getting voltage to them. Do the fans spin freely when moving them with your finger? When you manually set a fan speed do they spin ? Did the connector come off the fan header on the card ? How old is the card ? Is it clean ? Have the fans ever worked before ?

No other machine to check th is out.
I swapped slots on my power supply thinking maybe that was what was wrong.
    The fans spin freely.
I attempted to manually set the spin in Precision X and it didn't change anything.
Not sure where the fan header is at.
Cards is maybe a year old, clean and always worked up until now.

Do they spin on a full system power down and power up ? Like during boot or in the bios config for your mobo ?

the fan header is on the pcb near the bottom of the card, you can see it by removing it from the pci slot and without removing the cooler.  its near the end between two sets of the cooler fins. But it sounds like it may be time to submit a ticket if its still plugged in.

Might want to try flashing the vbios.  To do this you can call EVGA at 1-888-881-3846 ex 1 and just request your card models latest BIOS.  If that doesnt work then you can call them back and easily start an RMA through them as you can do the ticket and start the RMA in one call (two birds with one stone).
