Maybe he flashed to any bios which was modded for any other graphic card model.

Its as if they are reducing the OC potential with different bios

Let's check this by research the new bios version. Please upload it.

Callsign, I am confused. I thought you were the guy running 5 portrait monitors and doing all sort of crazy stuff. Must be a different person. Regardless, the stock bios of your card shouldn't have anything to do with what bios you can flash it with. There's clearly some sort of other incompatibility. That's the point of flashing a bios... you're replacing the existing one with a new one, in which case whatever old one you had won't make any difference. There has to be something else going on. 

 
That is me and a current BIOS can affect the uploading and writing of the new BIOS. Sometimes in some equipment if you have a certain level/date of BIOS/firmware they will not let you revert back to previous ones. May be when the 47 BIOS is loaded, there is something different then when the 28 BIOS is uploaded and the upload doesn't work right. Or maybe there are different versions of the cards made in different assembly lines, maybe different memory? Who knows. I did notice that on the back of each of my Classifieds there is a label with the BIOS version. One said 47 and one said 28. 
 
All I can say right now is you cannot cross-load the BIOS versions as it will corrupt. Feel free to try it.

Then they must have changed something in the production of the cards, memory as you mentioned, or something. That same effect occurs if you attempt to flash to a 2gb bios on the 4gb classy (I was messing around with this a while back attempting to get rid of throttling and such using lightning bios'). But you can just flash it right back, so no harm done. I find it odd that you got a classy with an evbot plug that has a different bios. 

You gonna make a 100% fan, 150% power target and 1.21v version of the .47 BIOS?
 
There must be some sort of hardware difference for the different BIOS versions as they are incompatible. 

I got my BIOS slot back using the DOS NVFLASH. Wouldn't work in Win 7.

Thanks. FYI I have a friend who also has two Classified's, both with EVBot connector and just like me, he has one 28 card and one 47 card. Surprised no one has run into this issue before me. ;)

I don't know if the 47 bios is older or younger than the 28 bios but the 47 bios has the capability to unlock 100% fan. I read this somewhere on the forums here but I couldn't find it anymore. Mine has a 47 bios with EVBOT. Could be wrong, just trying to give some info on the subject!
