Alright so A bit about this I talked to a guy on the phone about 2 weeks ago on the evga support hoping it would clear up the full system freeze. I have been monitoring the card typically after about 36 hours or so the system will start to drop fps where nothing displays for a few seconds but you can launch programs etc so not a system freeze tested it on time with just launching keyboard short cuts. The temps are the card are running fine I am running the newest beta drivers. System was running fine till put in the gtx 780. I sold the old card I had so now way to see if that helps.

Things I have done already
Upgraded to newest bios on the card only fixed full system freeze
Have tried every version of the driver that supports the card no luck with those
have tried maximum performance option in nvidia control panel no luck
have enabled kboost with evga precision no luck
Have enabled both performance and k-boost no change there
Redone all drivers removed evga precision and rivatuner
Also have done vsync on and off trying to see if that would help in global settings and games

All in all i'm running out of ideas really don't want to rma because I don't have a backup card the x79 series does not have a built in gpu so id be without a computer till the turn around on rma

Now about the system
I am running a asus rampage 4 extreme mobo on the newest bios have even played with the older one
64gb of ram vengeance series 32gb kits two of them
Raided ocz vertex 4 128gb two of these
ZX series 1250 watt power supply
And 4 additional hard drives
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
System was built November 2nd 2012

Please help me i'm going crazy

Welcome to my hell too. 36 hour driver crash....for the lose. It must be our weak power supplies

Is you windows updated just like mine? Nothing left to get?

The only thing I have tried that isn't on your list and I haven't gotten to test out yet is disabling the GPU High Definition Audio in the Device manager which leaves on Realtek behind.

Ok just wondering. Someone said they solved in the Nvidia boards by avoiding all this years win 7 updates. If I have to pull updates....which is ridiculous.....that nvidia doesn't test on an updated OS (hello real world calling.....perspective)...well then its back to AMD.

Wish I could help but i've had extremely similar symptoms, I thought I was the only one... I'm running 2x 780 ACX cards in SLI and used to experience full system freezes/BSOD's on a daily basis under windows 8, sometime it would make it 36 hours. I switched back to windows 7, updated the GPU Bios, updated the mobo bios (asus sabertooth z87) and the problems are less frequent, but after 36 hours - 3 days or so the whole system will start locking up for about 5-10 seconds at a time.

When this happens in a game like tf2 the whole system locks up and whatever sound was playing at the time loops over and over, then the game resumes until the next lockup about a minute later. The only solution is a reboot. The other day I came back to my computer in this state and the GPU fan's were blasting full speed the loudest I had ever heard them. The system BSOD'd on reboot. I've replaced the ram and run memtest on both sets without any errors, the system is prime95 stable and I can loop 3d mark all day long. I don't know anymore if this is EVGA or NVIDIA related but it's driving me insane, by far the most expensive, least reliable computer I have ever owned in over 20 years.

First remove -ALL- things to do with nVidia(Geforce experience, physx, drivers, precision, afterburner, etc.) Restart, run a driver removal program. Restart. Download latest driver. When installing select only Driver and PhysX leave others unchecked. Select the option for a clean install. See if that fixes your problem

Just to save time.. none of that is the issue.  Still occurs. This will be clean system reformat 3 and it still occurs. Has zero to do with GeForce Experience (which I never installed) or Precision X, Afterburner etc.

@Bleo...the issue occurs on non EVGA cards so we can count them out.

Done that a few times no luck with it kinda annoyed with nvidia at this point and the restart really is the only way to fix it or a hard restart if you get full lock up

Oh btw guys send a copy of your error in the event viewer(or if you have a snazzy program that gives more info use that) to Manuel G on the Nvidia Forums. He is a moderator and asked for info on this issue. Just tell him this is for the 36 hour or after a day driver crash problem.

I believe its the driver as I had the same symptoms with my GTX 480s SLI.  Used a program to erase all traces of the drivers and cleaned registry etc.  Used the recent released HQL driver and beta and both were the same outcome.  I rerolled back to 314.22 and have been ok browsing etc.  Haven't gamed yet.

I can confirm this has no effect. This problem persists across formats and I never install more than the pure driver and phsyx to begin with so there is nothing to remove.

In surround my system started locking up every 3 seconds.  Could barely move the cursor and had to do a hard restart a few times.  Browsers were ending up in different screens and blink back on its own.  It was very "wonky" to say the least. lol

Thats not true, i was just browsing this morning on day after 36 hour mark and evga crash and computer freezing every 5 secs.

this is what my event viewer looks like

The system uptime is 256326 seconds.

The Windows Error Reporting Service service entered the running state.

The process Explorer.EXE has initiated the restart of computer LUKE-PC on behalf of user Luke-PC\Luke for the following reason: Other (Unplanned) Reason Code: 0x0 Shutdown Type: restart Comment:

Theres no error log for evga crashing and causing my issue. Soon as it crashed i restarted my PC. All logs before those are  just Adobe start/stopping stuff.

ya I've noticed event log really doesn't help worth a darn with this and I doubt half of us getting our Psu killed unless nvidia put out a really messed up gpu series

I got the "it is your PSU speech: on card release......I now have 1000 watt PSU....so tired of the passing of the buck(and passing out bucks).  This is a problem with Nvidia interfacing with someone. Be it microsoft or the end manufacturers.

I remember when I used to play games now I search forums for a solution to a problem that should have been solved by someone who idk is paid for this type of work.

About to call myself right now..I am a night owl so I tend to get the guys who are half awake, none seem to show even a remote inkling that their brain is functioning(or interest in my problem)...half the time I feel like they put the phone down...walked away and I have never been given a ticket number.  I am not willing to spend not even 1 more dollar to solve this. Not paying to ship a card and then paying to have it shipped back to find out it was all a waste.

EVGA staff: might want to check on your tech support personnel(the night crew) because it honestly doesn't even feel like I am talking to EVGA....seems like I am on the phone with Geek Squad scrubs.
