That was because no reviewers benchmarked correctly with the 2 295 the always set physic up on the cpu(or not dedicate to physX so 4th card doing both) for 4 card performance and if you did that I would always drop 20 percent across the board. If you think for a moment if you dedicate the 4th to physX it is exactly the same as tri sli and performance was almost identical to my tri sli rigs. It was shocking the industry overlooked this! quad is tri with dedicating 1 of the 4 gpu's to physics. This is why ati had a hard time with older platforms (no workaround for 2 5970) we now see that quad works on 4 580's but it may be because 4th dedicated to physic's and 3rd workload freed up or better platforms drivers bandwith etc. Presently I only have 3 580 and 3 570 but maxi is showing good results!

As far as I know, the reviewers used the fault settings which have no effect unless you're running a PhysX title. I've not seen one review where they cited changed the driver default to dedicating one GPU to PhysX. Not a one.

At 1080P three 580's won't even break a sweat. You'll get over 60 FPS in every game with max settings at 4x AA. Your next purchase should be a 2560*1600 resolution 30 inch monitor to really take advantage of those cards.

Does anyone know about how much the GTX 590 will cost? and what psu is reccommended? thanks.

yeah i decided to go 580 sli right now and if the 590 does come out within step up period i will step up to 2 590's. Thanks turbo tax for getting my refund to me in 1.5 weeks and being free to use(federal)

And tt!!!???? Just say no. My guy got me 32k back. I have a 12k adoption credit etc and wd own a home but tt? Seriously?

yeah i spent most of my  tax return ($1800 0f 2100) on computer stuff. 2 gtx 580 sc's, asus vg236 with 3d vision kit, and 2 crucial c300 ssd,s.

I might hafta settle for just one of these cards when they launch, spending half my tax refund ($2000) to fix up my grandma's old lincoln towncar, both of our Birthdays are on Feb 16th, with a 60 year difference! Built her a nice computer last year, top of the line Fios connection, book marked the newegg site giftcard link... found out she got me a giftcard to the QVC tv channel... doh! Ah well, grandma's... gotta love 'em! 

Haha, I ordered a hello kitty purse with the giftcard to give to my fiance... told her I will trade it for another one of these gtx 590's when they come out, she took the deal! 

The corsair 1200 should be able to handle 2 of these beasts I assume?

I don't need a bigger monitor, I have my Acer 1920 x1080 23 inch, and I have my 46 inch LCD TV at 1920x1080 so I dont want to see it bigger, I like power and I don't give a dam about monitors.  I don't want to use glasses for now. thank you very much, also provably next month i will buy another gtx 580 SC

That's crap, what it counts is high graphics and a really nice picture. I don't know if you have your computer on the floor, but I have a really nice  desk and Iwill go blind if i put  a 30 inch monitor right infront of me. So Good luck with that[sm=biggrin.gif

1920x1080 is like the lowest of high end gaming.

Now 2560x1600 is where its at.

I can second this. I have a 2560x1440 resolution and really would have  a hard time going back to 1920x1080.
