HI,
my GTX 1080ti reaches temperatures of over 80degrees more and more often. (Standard out of the box fan settings) (I dig the silence when just browsing the internet)
Granted, during more or less demanding games (destiny 2, GTA V, and Rainbow Six Siege, as well as Dota 2), but this still seems a bit on the high side.
Is this normal?
Or should I RMA the card / apply different thermal paste?
And if applying fresh thermal paste is the way to go, does it void warranty? And which one are you recommending?

Thanks for your help.

By default the GPU is designed to run around 80C under full load. Without knowing anything else, it's impossible to say if that is normal with your fans running around 50% to keep the GPU at 80C, or it's struggling to maintain 80C with the fans running at 100%. Your case and air flow determines which side of 'normal' you are on.

I have the little Corsair AirCube 240, with an all in one  cpu cooler, which has its radiator at the front of the case. The fans dont really boost up when reaching these temps.

I thought about changing the fan curve, but that would lose me the functionality of the fans shutting off under low load, right?

The AirCube 240 has 9 fan mounts. So do you have all the fans installed?

I have installed two in the front (where also the CPU radiator is mounted)

two at the top (3 dont fit with a radiator installed)
    and one at the bottom)

I thought I had it bad with my card. I had the card reaching 57 degrees under load while playing ROE and Apex Legends.
I got the copper water block because of that and now it get 37 degrees Celsius.
Keep in mind that I did originally play with the fan curve in EVGA Precision OCX.

You can control when the fans start to ramp up. you can keep it quiet while browsing the net.
then ramp it up once the card hits, say 50 degrees. This is how aggressive my curve fan was previously.

It does not have to be aggressive as per above. You could have something like this.
you need to change the fan speeds and see what you are comfortable with.
Once you find that sweet spot of the different fan speeds, then you can mange the noise.
This could be a quiet fan curve for you.

Open your case --if temps drop --> increase airflow

Run case fans @ 100% as a test

You need to get the heat out of the case before the GPU cooler sucks in heated air, causing a heat loop & increased temps

What is your Ambient Temp ?  air cooled devices will be relative to the room temp

    Corsair Carbide Air 240 Interior

ACX & iCX coolers & Tiny cases make it challenging to get the heat out.

Small case is better served with a blower style card that pushes the Heat directly out the back of the case.  Some find the tone of the blower more noticable

The Hybrid style cooler is also a Great solution to tiny cases.  Hybrid will be quieter & should also run much cooler

EVGA did sell Hybrid kits - not sure you can still find them for your card .....

^ That seems high for a Hybrid kit.
My 1080Ti FTW3 with the Hybrid kit fitted doesnt go above 50C on the core. Even after several hours of Assassins Creed Odyssey (99% usage), or Superposition Benchmark.
GPU core settles to around 2025mhz and the mem runs at 5800mhz.
I run a custom curve for the rad fan, and a sconstant speed for the memory/power fan.

    Room temp is 21C here
