attempting to fix a card I have just lying around. does anybody have an idea of where I can find the replacement for the capacitor missing in the pic?

    It's weird, it doesn't look like it is missing. It looks like it was never there.
    Here's another example of that capacitor "missing".


    What is the problem with the card, and why do you think that capacitor will fix it?

    Put another 270 uF 16 v capacitor there, but I doubt it will fix it.

    The card fell and the capacitor was slightly compressed against the board, it came off when trying to straighten it out. Unfortunately I didn't think to to keep the capacitor at that time.

    I think you are misremembering which capacitor fell off. The one you have marked was obviously never there. That one is a through-hole capacitor and cannot fall off without leaving lots of evidence behind.

    I think the one which actually fell off is the smaller 47uF 16v one (C276).



    Buy a replacement at mouser.com or digikey.com . 16v, 47uF, surface mount, electrolytic/film capacitor

    You were 100% correct, I added the recommended 16v 47uF in the place you circled and the card is working beautifully. thank you very much, appreciate the help.
