We received pictures of the upcoming GALAX GeForce RTX 3090 flagship graphics card known as HOF.
Back in November, Galax began teasing its HOF series through a virtual expo, the manufacturer’s innovative attempt to showcase new products during the unfortunate times of a pandemic.
The photos allegedly show a prototype that is currently under evaluation. This is not a final product we are told, but rather a card prepared for final testing before it goes into production.

The RTX 3090 HOF appears to be using 26 phase VRMs, so far the highest number of VRMs from any RTX 3090 graphics card we have seen. The photos weren’t good enough to determine which are used by Vcore (GPU) and Vmem (memory). The power stages are also hidden under a heatsink (which we are told will be changed for the final product).
From the photos, we learn that GALAX RTX 3090 HOF will feature three 8-pin power connectors, a special OC BIOS button, voltage measure monitoring points for overclocking, and much more.
The prototype graphics card is based on GA102-300 GPU, features NVLink fingers, and has 24 GDDR6 memory modules on each side of the PCB. This means that the card is based on NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 SKU, but it seems possible that GALAX might launch an RTX 3080 or 3080 Ti model later. However, we have not yet been able to confirm such plans.
The team responsible for this custom RTX 3090 design features many famous overclockers, such as the TecLab team lead by Ronaldo Buassali, or the HOF team lead by Mad Tse, an overclocker working for Galax. As you might have guessed, this graphics card is not meant for casual gamers, but rather extreme overclocking with LN2. The HOF series are often used during GALAX sponsored overclocking events.

GALAX had already showcased the design of the upcoming RTX 3090 HOF last year. The 3D model did not show the 3-pin power connectors though. We did learn though that the card will be bundled with a big LCD panel, which will display system information, GPU metrics, and even bitmaps. We have not been able to confirm whether it can work as a separate screen yet.

I suppose this is to counter the one from Colorful RTX3090 with the LCD screen

Oh yes, that's a video card!  All of the voltage measurement points are nice.  Look at that capacitor arrangement!  Holy moly!  Electrolytic, polymer, and ceramic, all laid out to filter a huge range of frequencies?  Awesome!  I sure would hope that the silicon is good enough to benefit from that overkill.  Not sure why you throw the colorful card in there as well though.  Very different levels.

Seems the Galax is using the same 4 SPCap/2mlcc array as well as VRM capacitors that everyone complained about EVGA using, saying it was inferior to ASUS’ choices.

It’s almost like the engineers creating these cards know something that Reddit doesn’t.

I am glad to see that Galax is still active in creating the HOF cards. I looked a while ago and didn’t see anything, which made me wonder if they weren’t going to try making a HOF.

From RJ's post (which isn't cluttered with crap):

So nice.  That is a real overclocker's card.  Look at that over-kill on capacitor variety for better filtering over a broad frequency range.  It's INSANE how much variety they went with.  Now THAT's a premium card!!  I thought that what I saw on the front was crazy, but then when I saw RJ's post and saw the back, my jaw dropped.  Open the back side image in a new tab, and zoom in on the bypassing on the core.  Look at the variety of sizes and types!  They even have miniature polymer capacitors mixed in with the small ceramic capacitors.

Assuming that the silicon is not trash, it just must overclock better.

I always find it amusing when people buy these hardcore overclocking cards built specifically for Ln2 and massive overclocking headroom only to put it in their daily driver gaming rig.

Interesting power delivery design, good mix of components from the looks of it. Certainly like that milky white PCB too, a shame it probably gets buried under the cooler + backplate.

    Have water, will cool.
