Starting a new build after a year of playing with parts in online shopping carts and comparing. It may not be a very high end build but I'm hoping it gives me what I'm looking for....lol..or not I always want what I don't have. I have been pinching here and there and saving and finally sold my last PC and purchased almost everything. I still need the case which I can run out and get any time now I'm looking at getting the Haf X  since there is not much that can fit the board I have and I'm not really fond of most of the large cases out there.

I just received These a week ago.

Now my issue is I'm sitting around waiting on my Cpu which somewhere out there in the snail mail. Was hoping to get it yesterday buuut nothing...lol...Now I have 3 days off and nothing to do but stare at my parts over the weekend. Thing has been in the mail for a week now already..lol wife is going nuts listening to me complain about not having it yet.

I'm planning on 1-2 more 470s, water cooling for the board, vid cards, and cpu, and I need to grab an SSD or two. I'm not 100% sure where I am going at this point but I do have some Ideas and maybe some modding involved, I'll see when I get everything going. I just feel like I have to do something to that case I'm not happy with the exterior. I'll post as I go.

For now I have to look for something I have none of which is patience.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119230, literally just got done with a new build and used this case. Overall very impressed...already black interior, no painting it; psu mounts top or bottom...hdd install very easily, big fans makes it very quiet and cool runing; Love the window vs. the original fan intake on the side; only complaint...bought a Corsair 1200 watts psu and with it mounted on the bottom no room in front of it for a 120 fan intake on bottom...too long and covers up the back 2 holes...just some thought since you're looking at Cooler Master. I love my Cosmos S more but this is a nice case. No handles by the way. Even has 1 of the hdd trays for a ssd. Nice set up you're building!

Thanks....My issue is I have the 4 way Classified and I see there is only a hand full of cases that will hold it. I was going to go with the 3way Classified but I got this one at a good price with a $100 rebate. Good looking build you have there!!

The HAF-X is arguably the best choice for the 4-way Classified (when considering tower ATX cases that is) especially because you're going to water cool.  But any case that can fit an XL-ATX motherboard is at least "large".

UGHHH!! Guess I'm on hold...lol My cpu is sitting in customs now and they told me on the phone that it can be held up to 7 months. lol...I tried to save $140 by having someone get it for me from the US now I'm screwed. Last time this happened to me I had my stuff stuck for 3 months and when I got it the box was beat to nothing and I had to pay $50 more than what it was worth to start with after duty and handling fees.

I decided to go pick up a Haf X today and start installing parts while waiting for my Processor to clear customs.
I'm quite satisfied with the looks of the case and the set up.

    Power supply in.

    Got the Board in.

    Memory in.

Then around to the back to clean up some wires. I didn't get too far at this point.

This is about where I stopped...Getting way too tired now and will pick up tomorrow.

In all I'm a little disappointed in the way the wires are, I can't really hide them much better than that since the 8 pin will not reach if I run it behind the board. I'm not really sure what I am going to do with those wires right at this point but I am trying to come up with some solution to the problem. I'm really not liking the cables on the Antec. I have no idea what I'm doing so adding length to the cables is most likely a no go so I have to find some way to clean that up. Anyways off to bed I can't even think straight right now.

That was one thought I had while fighting with the wires. The next plan was to search for extensions and those look perfect!! Thanks for the link...I remember seeing that thread a few times and honestly never even thought about that one.

Extensions make it alot easier and neater, IMO. I have 6 days off starting tomorrow and plan on cleaning the backside of my case (aka wire hell) up while getting in there to do my sound card install.

Thanks....I just need to find some extensions for my video card, well going to be two after my trip in Oct.
My Cpu finally cleared Customs so now I just have to wait for it to get from the East coast to the West.

I have to start saving up to get all the Water bought and hopefully I can grab an SSD here and there somewhere in between. With school starting back up, a trip to Hawaii in Oct, Then B-days and Xmas I'm tied up...lol I chose a bad time to build. I still want to do some modding on the case also once I can fully figure out what I want to do it's just hard without everything sitting here. I know for sure I want to fully change the appearance of the front.

I did manage to find an extension for now to remove that huge cable from the front.

Finally up and running!!  I am having one issue though. I cannot for the life of me get my Memory running at the advertised speeds. I tried the settings on the package and it will start to boot then the screen just goes black and nothing...lol. I have to reset and start all over every time.

I have found a couple threads on this same memory but have not really found anything that works yet. Also I'm new to the bios...Way different from my dual core setup plus I only know the basics...Still a noob in learning with overclocking. At the moment I'm only using a Corsair H50 untill I can piece the rest together but that will take some time.

Anyone have any suggestions on how I could possibly get my memory at specs?

2000mhz is going to be rough on the CPU. It would be much better to run that ram at 1600mhz and low low timings (much better for your cpu) because you probably will need close to 1.45 - 1.55v on the CPU VTT Voltage to get the CPU Memory controller stable at those ram speeds. But if you want to try it, I would start with around 1.4  (+200mv) on CPU VTT and work your way up, run linx to check for BSOD's. Dont be surprised if you need +300mv (1.5) on the VTT, some i7's just plain out cant do it.

    To give you an idea.
    On a classified board 1.4 CPU VTT = +200mv     1.45 = +250mv
    On a Non Classified   1.4 CPU VTT = +300mv

Thanks!! Customs are a pain....I did finally get it but at an extra cost...lol. Got slapped with $45 in duty but w/e still came out $100 cheaper than buying here and in a way they do have a right to tax I guess even though it was marked as a gift.

So far I'm up and running at 3.9 - 4.0 stable with my memory at specs except I could only get it running correctly at 8-8-8-24 instead of the 9-9-9-24 specs which I guess is better? lol  So far I'm pretty happy with it I just want to clean it up a lot and start some custom work on the case and get my second card and water cooling. My 3 day weekend got cut a day short cause of a schedule change and my wife' s birthday and all that.....Now I have a 3 day weekend next week so maybe then I'll be able to get something done. I want to push the card a little and run some benchmarks to see where I can get it. At this point with only the H-50 I am maxed out with the cpu and I really don't have the cash to cook my memory...lol

In all I have lots more to do with this build It's just going to take some time now.

sweet Hardware. I currently have a 1200Watt PSU, but it doesn't really match the "color scheme" i'm aiming for. But it oh so hurts to dish out a couple hundred bucks for something that's not really essential.

Great build, I have the same RAM and I would suggest running it slightly below spec. to keep your CPU cooler.

sweet Hardware. I currently have a 1200Watt PSU, but it doesn't really match the "color scheme" i'm aiming for. But it oh so hurts to dish out a couple hundred bucks for something that's not really essential.

Thanks!!  Isn't that how it is with most of the hardware?...lol It's all just an addiction/hobby fun to have it all.

Great build, I have the same RAM and I would suggest running it slightly below spec. to keep your CPU cooler.

Thanks....I'm a hair under. So far it's everything is running perfect temps look to be reasonable for using a H50.
